Well the ST flew through its MOT and service today. Not surprising I guess as it's only done 822 miles in the last year

I've done more miles in the 310R!

Can anyone else beat that for lack of use?

Yep, my mum (in her 80s) did less than 90 miles last year! That lockdown scared the bejesus out of her!

I also only got advisories on the original 5 year old rear Potenzas that have started cracking. They still have 4mm of tread on them but I guess I should look at replacing them with Pilot Sport 4s to match the fronts sometime in the next year.

We have plenty of cars that come in for mot that haven't even done 5 miles, but to be fair they are the likes of super cars and Bentley's, Aston martins etc. Trailered for Mot and then  specialist servivicing elsewhere.  Esp this year as they didn't see there owners in 2020 for there 1 or 2 days out in them in London or Goodwood etc.  . What a waste of money and cars, but obviously ok if you have plenty of cash .

You should see some of the clients I've seen in the mortgage broker. One guy has a collection of American classic cars and bought his daughter a £120k Porsche taycan. He's looking at buying 5 properties for his daughter so she can get the rent money from them. I was told his family where part of the Iranian king's associates back in the 1970-80s and those people were very wealthy.

Ooppsss... did you miss the day they did the confidentiality training for mortgage brokers? LOL 🤣

If he was wise he wouldn't be getting a mortgage just buying out straight, profiting 100% of the rent then rather than the price of the Porsche on mortgage interest over the duration of the loan, or am I missing something,

I'd be asking him "what is he trying to keep his daughter quiet about?"

Personally my parents wouldn't lend me a penny, my dad has property in Poland and Ireland, asked him for a loan of €1200 for two months to get our eldest a computer for school at the time; and no; nothing.

I do like seeing the first hedgehog of the year in our garden last night.

No pics as it was too far away and dark for the phone camera to pick up and I didn't want to go outside and disturb it.

I think I did around 720 miles last year due to covid stopping me from going to my work placement and back then having more tough restrictions.

I would think he's trying to give his daughter a easy life. That's true also why he's putting a deposit down rather than buying outright. I heard he's worth £20 mil.

This weather!

Now that the ACF-50's had time to work I made the most of the sun to rub down and repaint the surface rust in the rear wheel arch behind the side skirts and touch up the stone chips on the calipers.

This side in progress:

The other side finished:

With the rusty front wheel arch liner screws replaced too that's all the jobs I had on my list done

Looking good. I need to touch up my rear calipers as there's spots where the paint has chipped and created rust

I didn't have any rust, but the Ford paint on my rear calipers doesn't seem to be as good as on the front and gets a lot of stone chips.

I do like amazon managing to bewilder me yesterday...

Firstly, I got a delivery from them on the bank holiday which I wasn't expecting!  amazon box, amazon tape, Amazon delivery label. :ermm:

Secondly, and more confusingly, I'd bought a few items from Amazon the day before (non-Prime so not expected until mid-week anyway) but it was none of those.

It was, in fact, an item I had purchased from eBay, as it was 30% cheaper than Amazon.  :g:

Just got the chance to check my eBay purchase history and it was definitely bought from eBay despite arriving from Amazon.  Has anyone else had that happen before!?

Yes! LOL I detest the ethos around amazon and am not a customer, I've been on eBay for nearly 20 years, but in the last few months, I've had several eBay purchases turn up fully branded 'Amazon', I have no idea why. It's clear they will soon be ruling the world... 😞

Well, at least it's not just me then!

I rarely used it before but have found it a bit of a necessary evil since the pandemic started.  Ideal for small items that would all incur individual postage on eBay, just group them up to £20 and get free postage on amazon.  Plus the ability to post stuff directly to relatives addresses has been very useful.  Can't say I'm a fan of the company overall though.

No, I've had that too, things I bought via eBay turn up boxed/labelled amazon. Thought I was going nuts.

We do seem to have the same guy locally (drives an old Galaxy) who does the final delivery for all sorts of people, and I guess a lot of the small businesses who use the amazon platform use eBay as well - could the packaging get mixed up?

I am also finding some odd delivery estimates when I get order acknowledgement emails - often they give an estimated date up to 3 weeks in the future - and then the stuff turns up next day.

Funniest one I had was an item I ordered via an amazon marketplace vendor (you have no idea where they are, of course). A guy knocked on the door shortly after I placed the order and handed me a package. It turned out he was operating from the garage of his house round the corner.😀

Although you bought it from eBay the eBay supplier will be using amazon as there supplier and distributor. Same goes for Hermes and Parcel Force.

I live in Ireland, and a few years ago I was fixed to eBay; bought everything from it and never used amazon or even had an account,

Until I started to receive deliveries directly from amazon, such as RJ45 network cables and HDMi cables which I was purchasing alot of at the time doing four television installation's and entire home network,

I then signed up to amazon and realised that everything I was looking for was slightly cheaper,

I later set up an eBay UK account and listed items which were available from Amazon for a slightly higher price then used my prime shipping,

So operating remotely I sold virtual stock; when someone bought from me on eBay UK; I would then purchase it on Amazon and enter there address for shipping then the excess money was my profit,

Yet I've never set foot in the UK in my life 🤯🤫 slowly bleeding the economy 😂

Yes. A lot of items that are on one off deals ( Lightening IIRC) are often purchased quickly and some times in bulk unless there are restrictions on them and the sold on at a later date after the offer is withdrawn.
