Car will hopefully be going in tomorrow to the bodyshop. Hope the finish results are good.

Also going to get the front plastics colour coded.

I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

Went to our local car boot sale this week and would of never of thought it.

In the middle all locked up with a steering lock on a Fiesta RS in that blue colour.

Dont know what it was doing there but inline with the others to sell but nothing in the car and wasnt for sale.

It was a nice looking machine.

Years ago now, for my mate's birthday (18th I think) we went up to London for a night in a stretch limo (can't remember the make or model).

On the way back, at around 1am, we had a blowout on the A2 thankfully spitting distance from some services. Managed to crawl up the hard shoulder and into the services where we had to wait for a replacement vehicle to come down to finish the journey. At 2am a black stretch Hummer turned up to take us the rest of the way.

By 5am I was wide awake again . Those were the days!

Those poor tyres!  Anyone would think it's not easy to parallel park that!

I had a Lincoln limo to town for one of my birthdays...I did not have enough friends to fill it!

Probably just an upbadged ST then, there’s only been 2 Fiesta RS models and they were in the 90s.

Me and my 2 kids ( 8 and 13 at the time) hired a stretched limo at  Orlando airport to take us in style to our hotel. That was an experience we enjoyed while my then to be ex wife was back in the UK fuming at us enjoying 2weeks theme parks without her. 😂😂😂. Happy days!

Car is now at the bodyshop

Is anyone going to Ford Fair tomorrow? Will be taking the ASBO on the EOSTOC stand, really looking forward to it!

I went for my regular eye check this morning and was pleased to be told my eye health and vision were excellent with no changes since my last exam. (My optometrist was probably less happy at once again failing to sell me some new specs!😀)

Seriously though, had an eye exam every 2 years since I first got a motorbike licence at 16 (so quite a lot of tests by now, then!) It's well worthwhile as an eye exam can pick up all sorts of other conditions including cardio vascular disease, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes, as my brother in law discovered recently.

Had those all apart from arthritis! Just had my 'diabetic eye screening' too last Sunday (In which they tell  me annually that my eyesight has deteriorated a little more) , yes I know, NHS working on a Sunday, guess they're trying to catch up on all their covid cancellations! Ironically, the one thing they missed recently was a cataract, which luckily my GP caught...

I've had laser treatment at 40 so I don't need glasses anymore for distance but I still get a check every now and then for health reasons.

Same as once I reached 50 I get yearly bloods done for PSA, cholesterol, kidney function and the like.

Had my 2 year reminder for an eye test in the post last week.  Can't get there now though.  Wondering if they can do it remotely...  Maybe hold up the letter chart on Zoom...  I won't magnify screen, promise!

They seem to keep changing the ball game as time goes on. They were very keen on my PSA levels from 50-60 but now they've discovered I have a heart condition they seem more interested in trying to worry me about that!😀

Lol, the "seeing" bit isn't that important - they can always give you stronger specs - but it's more what they can pick up through photographing the inside of the eye, the pressure test (for glaucoma) and so on.

Good point.  Felt sorry for the lady trying to do the pressure test on me last time, how she didn't get annoyed I don't know...every time it puffed I hit the ceiling before it could take the picture.  If only my voluntary reactions were so quick!  Think she gave up in the end.

Yeah she reeled off a litany of tests this time that I haven't had before.

I could fit all my friends into a Focus! 😀

I do like getting up at my usual 6.30am yesterday and realising that 3 of our 4 children were out at work!

Our 23 year old daughter had just started her shift at Lidl, one of our 18 year old sons had started at 6 on reception at the local sports centre and the other twin still had a couple of hours left of his night shift shelf filling at Tesco.

2 of the 3, the supermarket workers, have a higher hourly rate than me driving a 32 tonne truck! And they wonder why there's a shortage of HGV drivers 🤷 to be fair though I couldn't/wouldn't do any of their jobs.
