    I do like getting the all clear from the doctor further to a cancer scare.  Still got lots of problems in my life but at least now I've (hopefully) got a lot of time to deal with them.

  • I do like finally finishing a model kit I first started 5 and a half years ago.  It's a very special model that i was supposed to finish by the time the aircraft took her final flights across the UK

I do like using eBay to get a close look at parts for the car and comparing them to similar parts from other models from the same manufacturer in order to compare sizes for possible upgrade option without investing any money in trial & error.

in more detail; This is the interior dashboard of my Hyundai ix20,

I think the side vents closest to the doors would look better if the surrounds were the same grey color as the vent surrounds in the center area of the dashboard.

looking on eBay at Hyundai i20 dashboard vents to see if there the same size as the vents fitted to the ix20

This is an i20 vent

There similar but on close inspection sadly the i20 Vent is larger in size and not as curved as that of the ix20, so a straight swap is unfortunately not an option for me,

however; I did see in this image on a listing that the front surround separates from the vent grills;

which means; I can remove the surrounds from the vents, take them to a paint shop and have them sprayed grey to match the vents in the center of the dashboard, which will brighten up the interior a bit and give it a little more of a premium feel. 😀

Do like cleaning the car today and machine polishing the rear quarter which was resprayed. Can see clearly how much lighter the newly painted bit is

Gave it a good machine polish and used a black polish to hopefully darken that area.

Ive compiled a list on Microsoft Word with links; of item's which I plan to fit to the Hyundai ix20,

Some of these installations require alot of little components to complete; such as 15Amp cable, piggy back fude adapters, auto dim relay, T10 bulb sockets, aftermarket Aux adapter, coin holder, caliper decals, frosted glass style wing mirror decals, interior LED bulb upgrade's etc.

Some of these items each play an essential part in an install process, they don't cost alot individually but they do add up in total, 243euro to be exact

filing all of them for future reference on word; also creates a huge list of miscellaneous items among a list of more preferred big change purchases which all those small items help to make right & are of equal importance but the list just looks a mess and begins to bother me when reviewing.

So that said;

I do like working right through last weekend; to allow myself purchase all of the small items from the list where the remaining items on the list now range from 100-500euro in price, all of the small bits which come together in forming the big wheel of the process are on the way;

I've now got a cardboard box waiting to store all items as they arrive,

So I can now relax and look forward to some time off & good weather conditions which will allow me to seamlessly install the items from the list as they are purchased in the future; without having to remember that I also need this cable or that small component, all those parts are now done 👍🏻

Perhaps I'm a bit OCD or anxious 😅

But I'm glad to see it's now going to be plain sailing chipping off the list as funds allow.

I do like ordering a replacement steering wheel and centre dashboard heater control & surround for my 2012 Hyundai ix20 yesterday,

The replacement parts are identical but from a 2018 model, there's no scratches or signs of wear.

Bought all parts on eBay UK from a breakers in northern Ireland for 146 pounds.

To my surprise; they arrived in a box today via DPD to me in Republic of Ireland with zero important tax for a shipping fee of 20 pounds via DPD

I really wasn't expecting that, as a fellow work colleague and good friend of mine is currently in his third week of communications with a delivery company in Manchester UK trying to import a 1.5 Toyota Vitz engine for his 1.0 registered Toyota Yaris, and still no sign of it being processed, apparently loads of paperwork involved,

Can't wait to tell him of my hassle free delivery 😅 #Sour

So a few days ago on my hospital shift in A&E I met Yianimize 😂. Guy came in at 5 in the morning feeling a little under the weather.

Had a good talk with him but noticed he wasn't as respectable like how he comes across on his videos. Tried asking him for a picture but he got a little moody with me 😒. Can understand but no need to be bad about it.

Lol well I didn't say why he came in 😂. I did out if excitement put it in Instagram that I saw him and what happened but then deleted it as my sister and friend told me to take it off.

Would you be ok with people wanting a selfie when all you want is to be seen by a doctor?

I entirely agree, however, this particular individual exploits social media with ruthless abandon, he brings it all on himself.

Still should be allowed some privacy, especially in this situation and from a member of staff.

Normally agree - but this guy is a prize prat LOL

If Zain had the same opinion of him this wouldn’t have happened. Zain perhaps should have been a bit more professional in the circumstances, it’s sometimes better to leave celebs alone when they are doing “normal” stuff, that way you don’t get disappointed or offended by them.

It's a weird relationship with celebs.  We feel like we know them from so many viewings on TV or YouTube or Insta or whatever...but of course they don't have a clue who we are!

No, it's funny that, I've bumped into a few over the years and not one seemed to recognise me! Never pestered any of them about the thing they were known for, but found all were perfectly pleasant and "normal" when just chatting like you would when you find yourself next to anyone else in a hotel/restaurant/on a cruise/on a train/in a motorway services queue, etc.

I've never 'just chatted' to a stranger in my life! :unsure: :laugh:

Could be a cultural thing LOL I chat to strangers all the time. Though in the mid 80s when I commuted regularly to London, I didn't half get some odd looks when folk heard my Northern Irish accent on the Tube 🤣

very true, Geordies and the Irish will talk to anyone at anytime. When I travelled around the country for work I found as a general rule the further south I went the less people wanted to just chat.

Top of the wea morning,

i once left my bag on the Enterprise train to Belfast, i got off at Dundalk, was fun calling the station in Portadown;

the first few seconds of the phone call were; "Hello, i was on the train & got off in Dundalk & well 😓 im sure you hear this all of the time; but there's a bag on the third carriage and its just a mobile phone charger and change of clothes in it,

I'm looking to get it back please.

that's very true, there very clannish the further south you go they hate strangers,

im from a border county now living in south east fourteen years, and neighbors still barely talk because im not from around; some hate me for buying a house which one of there relatives could have lived in instead, 😄

If I'd arrived at Kings Cross on 10 September 1973 to catch my intended train, I could have been toast, though Iirc no-one actually died that day, unlike the fire in '87.  Fortunately I was ahead of schedule and managed to catch an earlier train and heard what had happened when we got to Leeds.

Lol I was being professional asking if I can check his vital signs as it's practice to do them when a patient has been in the department for a few hours. I did have a little chat with him which I do with others in the waiting room before the nurse called him in. I did feel bad when he answered back about the picture.

He did have a go at the nurse in charge after getting a different result back from a test which lets just say was not the same result from the same test he did a few times before he came in. He was then standing around in the department where I approached him where he wanted a sideroom to himself. I did help him and tried reassuring him for what he came in for.

I don't know, either I was a snowflake about it or he is different when the cameras are off him 🤷

Now, the odd bit was the, "looking to get it back..." LOL I was a Samaritan volunteer for a decade during the 'troubles', (we often got bomb warnings as a guaranteed 24 hour service where the phone was always answered) genuine bomb threats were usually accompanied by a recognised code word...

They were more concerned and threatened not to return it as the feared more; it to be real as I was requesting they get hold of it

Really were terrible times when looking back, I remember being in "crazy prices" was the same as Tesco and before Tesco bought it over;

I was looking at biker mice from Mars figurine's with my mother; to show what I wanted Santa to bring; then we had to leave as there was a bomb scare in the area;

Stuck in traffic then like it was the end of the world; was quite frightening and I remember asking "what happens if they don't find it and it goes off when Santa is there collecting toys"

Thats only one of my experience's and extremely mild compared to others with lost loved ones and life long injuries, I'm just saying of an experience,

I Now live 370km further south with my own family; not because of political trouble; more that I found the love of my life in co.wicklow and the house prices back in 2006 were so high we ended up buying further south again in Wexford, three kids and a furr baby now,

Working with chemical's now sometimes takes me back to that time in the shopping centre where were coming close to evacuation again, this time due to eh operator error 🤪

Len, I'd need a whole separate thread LOL  I went to school in Belfast city center in the 70s, it was not a good time at all, though I'm so glad I have lived to see such a wonderful transformation in the country to the extent that Belfast won an award a few years back as the best European City Break!
