1) diesel engines in general tend to be rackety. I wouldn't expect it to be a quiet Rolls Royce lol.

2) what sort of driving do you do?

3) did you buy it new or used? Possible that the service light has come on after 1 year has passed. Either that or they didn't reset it last time it was done.

Bought car at 6 months old with 3000 miles car is 1year old today These engines have an oil dilution issue but not all recalls advised yet by ford..

My wife drives the car normal & rural driving.

What I'm trying to get at is don't expect much higher MPG unless you're doing a lot of motorway driving. Constantly changing speed has a massive impact on MPG.

I'm guessing the oil change message has come up because it's been 1 year. I believe the fuel in oil is a different message.

Have a case open with ford just now.

Sickened with what thought was going to be a hassle free car.

Great looks & handling with problem ecu & engine performance

i was quite unimpressed by the MPG when I first got mine but it has now done 13000 miles and is getting around 55-58 MPG average.

Not bad really, I find that sport mode is best

That’s a given Dave. At least in a diesel it’s affordable..

I meant for fuel economy, more than driveability, though that is greatly improved too
