debra
Hi, Was hoping to get some advice. I've owned a 2003 fiesta 1.4 zetec for approximately 10 week now and although love the car, it's not been without it's faults! First the CO sensor packed up, then the handle for my seat release snapped. Now I get a faint tapping noise from the gearbox/clutch when the clutch peddle is pressed in and vibration when setting off in first (as if the car is going to stall). I have to increase revs to 1800 to calm the vibration. General driving is fine, no noises or vibrations. Has anybody had a similar fault that could help me with diagnosis. Thought it might be thrust bearing but i've been told that the thrust bearing is noisy when the peddle is released. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you, Debra. debra
Problem is solved! Clutch friction plate had broke 3 of it's fixings and was flapping around when the clutch peddle was pressed. When setting off, the friction plate was twisting, trying to break the last 2 fixings hence the vibrations. New clutch fitted, happy days.
