So I would like to upgrade my Sony system to sync 3. Now I already saw some topics over here on how to do it.

But I have a grey cable on my car, which I cant find anywhere when people are showing how to do the upgrade.

This is the cable, not sure what it is, but I cant get any info about it whatsoever. Hope someone knows.

The gray connector is only used on the 10-speaker Sony audio system. The 10-speaker Sony audio system has different wiring/connectors than all other Focus MK3/MK3.5 audio systems.

If you want to upgrade to SYNC 3 and retain the 10-speaker sound output you need to install a 10-speaker Sony SYNC 2/3 ACM. These are very rare and hard to find. Installing a standard 6-speaker SYNC 2/3 ACM or 9-speaker Sony SYNC 2/3 ACM will result in (significant) loss of sound quality and loss of the subwoofer.

Because of the rarity of the 10-speaker Sony audio system I highly doubt that anyone has any experience with upgrading from the Bluetooth/Voicecontrol based 10-speaker Sony audio system to the Sony 10-speaker SYNC 3 audio system.

I must say I’ve found it very hard to find even a 9 speaker ACM for my car, still looking so imagine it will be very hard to find the 10 speaker set up as above.
