I've got a history of making my voice heard even early in my career. I can get a little stroppy at times and usually for good reason.

Likewise, so  just for info.

I'm waiting to see what happens in my case. Lots of friends/relations aged late 60s upwards have now had a vaccination.  Most have had no reaction at all, the odd comment about aches/tiredness but that's pretty normal when you're getting on a bit anyway😃, so hard to tell, really.

Further update 3 days after vaccination: zero side effects for me also.

I got mine yesterday. My arm is a little tender today, no biggie, and I went for a 10 minute nap this afternoon which apparently lasted over 3 hours 🤣

Had my 1st Pfizer jab yesterday at Prees Medical Centre, a round trip of 20 miles, excellent all round service from the staff involved. The only boring bit is the 15 minute wait after the jab before I could leave.

Noticed that the general NHS site (www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination) is now doing bookings for over 65s with no health issues, so got the Mrs booked in for next week.

One thing I noticed - that site lets you book your second jab at the same time, which we did. The one I used (which was a link sent to me in a text message, presumably because I have a condition) only let me book my first jab. Just gone into the general NHS site and it let me book a second appointment.  Just ran through the steps and it automatically came up with a second appointment for 3 months time. Clever stuff! So I'm sorted for Jab 2 end of April.

And you don't even get that if you have the Astra Zeneca - 10 minutes in/out for me.

Or... you could just walk out anyway and ignore the wait 'advice' which I often do 😀

My Dad had his (Pfizer) done last week aged 67...we're wondering if occasional, mild asthma is one of the health conditions as he doesn't have any others that we know of lol!

Could be, Tom - brother in law (61) got his because of asthma as far as we can see. It is a respiratory condition, so it figures.

My parents had the jab last week, both in 70-74 category. Different surgery's (next door to each other), both had the Oxford one. No side effects so far. My father had it first (Wed Morning) found it strange to be given the notes about the vaccine after having the jab, not before.

I am in Group 6, last time I looked it's predicted I'll have mine sometime in March.

I would have found it even more strange to have to call into the surgery before hand (which now needs an appointment) just to get a pamphlet when if you are that concerned, all the info needed is online....

Great they are done though.

They had to fill in a form in the waiting room just before their appointment, should have given it then. Maybe should have been told which one when booking appointment. Not sure if they were sent conformation of it, sent a link then.

I also wonder if people around Teesside will be given the Fuji one that is made here (Billingham).

I wonder what form they had to complete? No one I know, including myself, had to fill out any form... As for which 'brand' vaccine was on offer, I could have cared less though was pleased to get the AZ one, as they make my diabetic injection and I like to stay brand loyal LOL

It was basic questions. Have you had flu/covid before, flu vaccine yet, allergic to anything, given vaccine trial?  I am always asked if I'm allergic to eggs before I'm given the flu vaccine. I have never been given any info about the flu jab(s).

I'm diabetic (type 2), thankfully I don't inject myself, I just take tablets. I don't care who makes them, as long as they do the same job. However, I think there are slight differences in Covid vaccines.

Still odd for a form, I was asked these verbally before getting it! Getting folk to write that all down must have really slowed up their Dr's surgery!

No form filling for me also, the nurse doing the jab asked me those same questions, Ive read on another forum that the 15 minute wait before you can go is because I drove myself there.

I drove too, and left straight after - I'm a bad man LOL

It might just have been the way our surgery's dealt with it. It could/should have been done verbally to save paper and time later.

It's a 10/15 min walk, but Dad drove, don't think he had to wait afterwards, but might be wrong.

Simple case of maths. My surgery invited us in batches of 12 every 15 minutes (multiple vaccinators). So they process 48/hour, then 400/day (extended hours), then 2400/week (6 day week). Can't be wasting time giving out clipboards then collating them, and reading results LOL

He is basically getting side effects of the flu, headache, chills, aching muscles etc.

According to the info leaflet, proof that the vaccine is working...

The 15 min wait is only meant to be for the Pfizer vaccine, as that's the one a few people had an allergic reaction to early on.

TBH Tom, I'm always told to wait after my annual 'flu' shot as well I ignore that too!
