Ford focus 2012 1.0 ecoboost modifications?

Alright, so I am about to buy my ford focus 2012 1.0 ecoboost 100hp, the main point for this purchase was because how cheap it is here where I live and its very cheap to maintain. Because I am a bit of a car geek and love modifications, I'm just curious, what can you do to the 1.0? how much can it actually take before braking down, what do you need to upgrade to get some power down and does it still stay reliable and cheap to what point? I'd love to hear if anyone has any experience or knowledge, anything is fine!
