I have Feb 2002 Puma Thunder 1.7 done only 21,500 miles and in irreplaceable condition. Leather seats, reversing sensors, even had the aluminium handbrake lever fitted. Bought new. Garaged and only taxed and used summer months but haven’t a clue what to insure it for has anyone an idea ? Currently value I put as £3000 but should I take out a fixed value policy for more?? Help

The prices that are being achieved for anything unusual with a BLUE OVAL badge at the moment I would say you need to get Agreed Value insurance and based on what you have said regarding mileage/condition etc then personally I would be looking at at least £6000 and possibly much higher.

At the end of the day the value of any car is what someone else is prepared to pay for it but the question you have to ask is where can you find another one like it in the same condition?.

I have a Classic insured through (Peter James Insurance) Agreed Value very reasonable premium and they are easy to get in touch with when you need to not like some of the other Classic Insurers who quite frankly are a nightmare unless you are taking out a new policy or are renewing OR you like listening to a pre recorded message rabbiting on about all the other services they would like to sign you up to while on hold for what seems like a lifetime and while being told how important your call is to them.

I have tried Peter James but they won’t quote as it does not fit their classic car criteria but have tried Adrian Flux and Heritage hopefully they will be mor accommodating  Cheers

Oh well worth a try it is possible the car is not old enough i.e not yet classed as historic vehicle but good luck hope you get sorted.

Hi.

Have we given you a quotation yet? If we have how did we do?
