Mk. 4.5 Delays

Featured Replies

First bit of good news in almost two months: my car arrived at Ford's parking lot in the country.

Hopefully in no more than 2 weeks the dealer can set a date for me to pick it up.

Hi Dotore.

Do you know what the ETA to dealer is now that your car has moved on a stage?

(The date from the dealer system on their screen?)

Or is that where you got the two weeks from in your comment above?

With reference to next weeks shutdown.

Due to missing parts: No production from November 14th to November 18th

Theories on this are;

They've been missing parts for a while and building cars anyway, and now their WIP has built to such a level they have to stop.

OR, they're missing new parts now that cannot be fitted in wip. Stuff that's difficult to retrofit after the main cars been built.

The ETA in the system is 19th but it's obviously BS as they never deliver on weekends, so it will be somewhere between 23 and 25 if all goes well.

The dealer has no info on what Ford EU does (as apparently any dealer in EU), but when it comes to Ford RO it is way easier for them to call and get some more clear info.

Bit gutted about all this to be honest.

So close, and are we now facing more delays, or aren't we? We don't know.

Feel about attempting to get a more solid answer on whether cars are coming before Xmas or not. Then if we know at least we can just enjoy the festivities and think about it again in the new year.

How can we get more info though, any ideas. Dealers will know as much as us.

Ford customer services worth a try?

I've tried to contact them already, they just say they can't provide any additional info from the dealer!

I'm going to be without a car soon, plenty of things I was expecting to have a car for: christmas, holiday, friend's wedding, and now will be paying for expensive rentals when I should've had the car in April/May. Ridiculous.

Yeah agreed.

We are all suffering here.

I light of what you've said, I should count myself lucky that I'm only having to deal with the most boring vehicle in existence till the focus shows up.

Sad that you've had to rent one. Pain.

So, I ordered a white St-line auto 155 beginning of Feb. Got a great deal for £22.5k. Have been told I should have it before Christmas.

The last few months I've regretted not ordering the St-line Vignale/X instead, mainly due to seeing and sitting in both. The 18" alloys transform the car too IMO and also the interior trim.

I didn't change my order as I was told I would be at the start of the queue again and would lose my level of discount.

Would I be mad to place an order for the st-line X now and then part exchange the standard stline when the X arrives? I shouldn't lose anything on it due to the discount and the increase in prices.

However, got a quote for a white St-line X auto 155 with matrix lights and it comes to £28.4k with discount. But, a big difference to what I'm paying at the mo.

Trying to convince myself I'm not mad and just do it lol. My finances have improved due to getting a new job but I'm so double minded and really want the upgrade. Help! Anyone think it is worth it or should I wait longer to order the X? 😬

Hello Sun, why dont you get your interest registered for a vignale/X at a few dealerships, if one comes in or they get a cancellation you have a decision to make.

Also, could you look at changing the alloys?

I am sure you have read all the updates in the group, re-ordering will set you back months, its not a rosy picture at the moment.

18" alloys look great...but they ruin the ride and create more road noise.  I'd definitely suggest having a drive in one on a variety of road types before making your decision.

First issue encountered with Sync 4... Yesterday I started the car after 3 weeks of not starting it, and the connectivity to Android Auto was broken, I couldn't even connect to my phone using Bluetooth...The solution was to factory reset the infotainment, and after this, the connectivity to Android Auto came back

I had a ST on order then Ford announced the Track Pack which I really wanted, ended up with a similar decision to you as they couldn't amend my original order so had to place a new one although my dealer carried over the discount from the first order.  They may be making the Track Pack cars a priority (who knows) or I may have extended my wait but either way I just felt I would spend the ownership of the car regretting it if I hadn't gone for it.

All depends if it will bother you further down the line not upgrading? Are you planning on keeping the car for a number of years? if so may be nice to have the extra spec.

Mine ordered 5th Mar, was built on 13th Oct.

It been assembly off line awaiting parts since then.

My eta to dealer keeps slipping every week though.

Was 25th Nov, 3rd Dec, 10th Dec and now 17th Dec.

The dealer was quite straight with me and said it was likely to slip again.

Thanks. I contacted my local dealership today to get a test drive for a focus with 18" alloys and they don't have any yet but will contact me when they do. I think once I've test driven that then will make a firm decision. I'm still looking to take delivery of my st-line next month.

Will definitely get a test drive first. I had a Golf GTD for 4 years though with 18" and found that to be fine tbh, but maybe the Focus has a slightly firmer suspension. I did come across this post today which has got me thinking along with your reply that maybe 17s are the way to go with the st-line. https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/139620-st-line-x-2018-dropping-down-to-17-st-line-wheels/

That's true. Looking to keep it for a minimum of 3-4 years tbh and possibly even longer if it doesn't encounter any issues so the extra spec will be worth it. I'll take the X for a test drive and see how it compares to the standard st-line. Visually it's definitely better which is why I'm tempted but I have some concerns for the ride.

Appreciate all the replies. Thank you

Similar position ordered in feb built on 17th oct but has been at the. Assembly offline stage since . ETA to dealer keeps slipping currently 17th Dec . Have resigned myself to the fact will be 2023 before we take delivery of our focus

Morning all, good news is that my car has been built.

Bad news is:

Ford’s transport network is running a little bit behind where it would normally be at the moment with delays at both Flushing (Holland) and Dagenham.

Realistically, i cant see my car coming in November, slim chance in December but most likely January.

Ford Focus ST, Auto, Mean Green, Performance Pack, BLIS, Driver Assist - ordered mid-June 2022.

Literally just had an update land in my email . Gate release stage !

Hi guys,

This is going to be a long post, but please bare with me as it’s one of the important ones. A couple of days I talked with another Ford Focus owner (don’t know if he is present in this forum) about an issue he is facing with the Pixel Led headlights. Let me start from the beginning.

A couple of months ago while I was looking around for videos of the headlights I stumbled upon this video and asked the uploader why his headlights were aimed so low. He said they were ‘perfect’ but they are clearly not. The same can be seen in some of his other instagram stories.

Bad headlight aim

J. reached out to me a couple of days ago and told me his lights behave the same exact way and he sent me a video demonstrating this. Apart from this, he is also facing issue with the blinkers not always lighting up when he unlocks the car.

My car is not built yet, so I cannot provide anything meaningful to this issue, so I would like to ask you guys that have the Pixel led headlights to check out this video and compare yours with J's (attached below). I will also include a video to demonstrate what the headlights should probably look like.

So, in conclusion

  • Auto leveling does not always work resulting in headlights being aimed so low they look like fog lights
  • Blinker not always lighting up when unlocking the car
  • Car restart is not fixing it
  • Disconnecting the battery fixes it (sometimes)

J. has already contacted his Ford dealerships in Poland and I have raised this matter to my dealer who will raise a question with Ford Greece etc.. This is something very serious and as you can see from the video is also a safety concern. Something needs to be done about this, so please take a look and please let Ford know about this so that it can be fixed.

Thanks to everyone!

This is bizarre. I will keep an eye out on this but so far at night I have had zero issues with the positioning and pixelating of my headlamps. My Focus was built in September. I have kept everything in auto and manually operate my high beam lights.

Thanks @cnikolakakisfor the post.

My dealer has said my St Line Vignale 155ps Auto, Fantastic Red with parking pack, ordered 3rd February is still showing Assembly Offline, but he’s given me the VIN, can I track its progress myself?

J. told me that he got a message from Ford letting him know that the issue is being investigated and there is a way to replicate it. Could you try it out to see if that happens to your car as well?

This is what he told me:

  • They say that it might occur when you push the starter button without the clutch and in the next 6 seconds you push the starter again but with the clutch

I would appreciate knowing this too as I have just been given a VIN for my Focus ST Line and would like to track it if possible.

I think it's a lottery, I have also the Pixel LEDs and I don't have this issue with the Pixel lights... Indeed this should be solved on warranty with a software update or if it's a hardware issue, then the headlight would be replaced, but don't worry about this.

Also, about leveling, I noticed that on the left side the light it's lower compared with the right side where it's really glowing, and also, I don't have the ,,follow me home" lights that I had on the previous MK4, when I'm locking the car, the lights are instantly turned off..
