escort mk 6 van window channel rot

so have a mk6 van never been welded and very straight , problem is today i noticed the both window channels have rot where the rubber pushes on is it worth repairing , i can weld but not sure if i it is wort it , is this a common problem paul

I would think the answer is 'no'

How many 23 year old Escort vans, with or with out rust do you think are still on the road ?

Is the rest of the van in very good condition and do you plan on keeping it ? The answer to those will tell you if it's worth trying to repair.

yes good condition 70000 miles no dents original sills . plan was to keep it just dont have the time for the windscreen repair . no idea how many still on the road and how many may not realise they have rotten screen frames only found mine by chance as the side rubber concealed the problem well  paul

There are fewer than 3700 Escorts of any year / model left in the UK. I'd think very few of them will be Escort Mk6 Vans. You might have something of a future collectable !!
