Maybe better paying the little bit extra to get a tyre i no has no defects. where is the metal sticking out and how big is it? getting a puncture repair is perfectly safe, and as its plugged from the inside its not going to go anywhere.. stef123
Its bang in the middle of the tread and is about 2mm^2 in area If its in the middle of the tyre it should be repairable. the piece of metal i got stuck in my tyre on the last car was a considerable size and the garage still managed to repair it - tyre was only a few thousand miles old and was perfect until the day it wore out.. I got mine sorted at AD tyres for £7.50 - that included repair and balance etc..
