Hi,

Bought a facelift Mk6 Fiesta yesterday for my wife. Tonight a redlight has come on under the trip computer. Does anyone know what this is?

It's the left handside or what seems like two lights?

Cheers

Just downloading from the camera, the manual only shows the non-facelift dash?!

The light in question is is conviently placed right by the 7k marke on the rev counter.

It came on briefly yesterday as i pulled in for petrol (the petrol light was on). It has since done the same tonight with the Mrs. (petrol light back on again)

While outside taking the pic i started the car and the light came on amber, then went off. I'm guessing its like an engine warning light my that seems to be contained in the speedo cluster?

Any help appreciated.

Is there a symbol on the light?

It sound silly but its not a low washer tank light is it, and your just on the brink of it coming on? This would cause it to randomly switch on and off. They are normally amber though (as you mentioned it in the last post) and not red (as you said in your first).

ahh that light. it comes one when you open a door and stuff for example?

any other issues with the car that could be causing it to come on?

does it say in the handbook what its for?

It could be the low outside temprature warning light.

Its a type of warning light. It comes on either red or amber for a no of reasons

You've not shut a door right, the boot or bonnet might not be shut properly, low on fuel...

Not sure wot else makes it come on but is should tell you in the menu or come up on the main screen.

You can always reset it using the button on the end of the stalk.

I was actually looking at my book to night so this is what it said

If your car is definatly a facelift model (late55- to -early 58 reg)

the light is a message indicator

if the light is RED

low brake fluid level

high engine temp

transmission failure (auto or durashift)

steering assist failure

engine system fault

low outside temp (usually freezing)below 1 deg centigrade

if the light is AMBER

transmission malfunction

engine system fault

low outside temp (between 4deg cent and 1deg cent)

hot transmission (auto only)

left indicator bulb fail

right indicator bulb fail

any door bonnet or boot open

remote key battery low

failure in auto wipers/lamps

hope that helps ime only copying from the owners hand book

good luck
