stevefincham
I have just purchased a new Ford fiesta Zetec. And found that once the doors are double locked (deadlocked). It can only be opened by the remote key. And the spare key will not work. Is this a fault with the car as it means I have effectively not got a spare key? Thanks Steve
stevefincham
This seems to be a big problem with new ford cars
poohbear
I had no idea this could happen :( I always always dead lock my car because otherwise the lights don't flash! I won't in future incase the key breaks and then I wouldnt be able to get in!! Surely that's wrong that you then can't open the door with the key?! Air Hostess
I had no idea this could happen :(I always always dead lock my car because otherwise the lights don't flash! I won't in future incase the key breaks and then I wouldnt be able to get in!! Surely that's wrong that you then can't open the door with the key?! When I got my fiesta I had the tech pack fitted ,and part of that was two remote keys,I know my friend only had one key and she had another one cut and programmed, perhaps that may be the way to go? if you have only got one remote key,Ime not sure how much they are ,but as i said i got two keys so i cant say what the cost will be..................just a thought as I have never had to use the key in the "keyhole" yet.I keep one key on my car key fob and the other on my house keys in my bag so either way i have a key with me best of luck Kristal
On3rdFiesta!
Hi. Well after numerous phonecalls re the same problem and getting various stories, I eventually went to the garage today.... All the lock needed was oil!! oil!!?????!!! Not sure whether to be embarrassed or happy. Need to go and find something new to moan about now.... Good luck!
