gc88
Me again.. I've seen these on other ford forums... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390057378301 By the looks of it, it is genuine ford which is fitted to Auto cars (apparently they need more air in the air box?) Anyone here know of the part / have it fitted? Any details appreciated - google is starting to play with my eyes!

gc88
Yeah - not for our cars :(
artscot79
mnk1 only im afraid the waythe new airboxes are routed you dont need one anyway it draws air from the lower bumper nice and cool
btmaldon
Yes, I did that modification on my old Mk1 along with a K&N panel filter. It certainly reduced the bogging down on hot days. Shame it doesnt fit the Mk2.5.
Lenny
Yeah - not for our cars :( the ZS grills have a higher air flow compared to the standard zetec grills anyways mate so your ventilation is at a premium level already, to further reduice internal temps by over 30% you could fit a code red intercooler to replace your existing one, these intercoolers are manufacutred specific for the focus TDCi engines and come supplied with certificates of performance testing. and since they are designed for our model they are also a direct replacment, they were selling for 900euro last december now they are less than 300 euro, ive got one on my shopping list for sure mate. http://www.european-parts.net/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/58_82/products_id/
Stoney871
At that rate next year they'll be paying us to fit them. :D
artscot79
my intake comes from the lower bumper with a channel at the side so the air is fed direct to the airbox on the 2.5 it would be where youre lower grill ends thats how far down the ti vct is fed
Lenny
At that rate next year they'll be paying us to fit them. :D lol true mate, i just hope they keep stock of them until i can afford to by one too. your 1.8TDCi would benefit great from one of these too mate especially since you got yours remapped. Stoney871
I am keeping that in mind mate. I would assume the inter cooler is full of oil or fluid?
Lenny
I am keeping that in mind mate. I would assume the inter cooler is full of oil or fluid? no just alluminium as far as im aware. but the highest of high performance ones can come with a glycol channel. the down side of these glycol ones are they make the car under steer because any type of weight that is positioned in fron of the front wheels will contribute to a heavy nose causing body roll and under steer. ;)
