Zetec S Ecoboost 1.0

Featured Replies

I have a 125 Ecoboost at the moment, it's a fun little motor and more fun than my diesel, and not bad on the economy side.

On the way to work, I get 76.8mpg average in the diesel, and 54.8 in the Ecoboost; on the way home I get 59.4mpg in the diesel and 32.8 in the Ecoboost (giving it the beans to join the next traffic jam and because it's sunny and why not :P) but the 54.8 isn't bad.

Decided to give the ST a blast because it needs some miles on it to run in and do a comparison, 48.6mpg to work, 34.3mpg back.

These Fiesta's seem reasonable to be honest, when driving the Focus for work I best it at 41.8mpg which again isn't bad considering it's a 1.6 petrol estate.

Not sure if this has be mentioned before, I saw this article a few months back and wondered if it's got any truth to it?

An extra 15bhp and a six speed box should make it quite nippy.

It'll be a remap...

Got mine today :)

Anyone know how to display the music info you are listening to on the display when streaming via Bluetooth from your phone?

That bit doesn't work mate. No info when streaming via Bluetooth :(

:( that is the only little thing I don't like about the car, the rest of it is great!

I don't use the Bluetooth for music anyway. It's too confusing. USB and I'm set :)

x2 :)

Just to add ;)

Solid state HDD works just fine. Formate to FAT32 and your ready to go :)

cant get my phone to connect via USB or my iPod. but phone works via Bluetooth, weird?

Depends on how your phone "presents itself" (lol?) to the car.

I think if it does anything other than mass storage mode (i.e. MTP like a lot of modern phones), the car can't read it.

Got it all working now :) thanks

So are you using an external HDD in the car USB?

If so what are you using, just a standard laptop hardrive?

Yeah thats right Darren, I'm using a 2.5 Samsung SSD in a case then pluged it strait into the cars USB.

Ive tried other laptop drives but could not get some of them to work as they draw more power than the USB can handle so an SSD is the best way.

Most hard drives are in NTFS formate so need to be reformatted in FAT32 to work in the car, this can be done easily on your PC using free software from the Internet.

Picked up my Zetec S on Saturday, absolutely love everything about it!

The only thing I cannot get to work is connecting my ipod via aux lead!

Hello

What is it like to drive......I mean, for example, taking off at a roundabout, nippy?

Regards

Gary

Plug your 'i pod' in, then press the 'command' button on the steering wheel & when promted say 'I pod' or 'USB'. Hopefully it will then prompt you again, so say 'play all'.

See what happens.

Thanks mate, have the ipod working now!

And Gary yeah it is nippy if you put your foot down!
