Replacing The Glass In A Door Mirror

Featured Replies

Hi, I have to replace the glass in a Mk7 door mirror. I have the replacement glass unit and have been told it simply clicks in place. However I cannot get the existing glass out and don't want to use brute force in case I break something. Can someone explain how I go about this task. Do I have to take the plastic back cover off the mirror unit. if so how does that come off as it seems pretty secure.

Thank you.

Hi, I'm not sure about the mk7 but I have mk6.5 st mirrors and they simply unclip, it does need a bit of brute force, I unclip from the innermost bottom corner,

Hope this helps.

Thanks, as you say it needs a bit of brute force but sorted in the end.
