08 Focus Dash Lights On & Indicators Not Working

Hi Guy's..

My 57 plate focus estate has developed a strange fault where the following lights are constantly on on the dash: Airbag light, handbreak light, aircon light, seatbelt light.

Also, when I use the indicators & main beam, they don't show up on the dash..

I have read somewhere that this is a common problem and it's something to do with the fusebox by the passangers feet..

I wanted to confirm this before i start messing around and wanted some input..

Also, if it is that, do i have to reset the ecu? (i've read somewhere that to reset the ecu I'll have to disconnect the battery for 10 mins)..

Any help please.. & thanks in advance

Disconnect the battery, then drop the fuse box.

Make sure that the fuse box is dry and does not show any signs of moisture. Then, disconnect all relays and harnesses, remove and refit in place.

This should make sure there are no poor connections.

It's not uncommon.

Sometimes a passenger can accidentally kick the underside of the fuse board too which caused a connector to come out slightly.

As said above, check all relays and connectors are seated firmly on the board.

I would spray electrical contact cleaner In the gem module fuse box an dry it out but it could be an instrument cluster problem to

Definately, the way the MK2 seems to have inherited the MK1's.
