adz83
Hey everyone, i have a mk2 Focus with a rattly tailgate when going over a rough surface. It can be cured by putting tape around the striker plate for the catch but this wears away over time. Is there a permanent cure fo the problem? Thanks. jeebowhite
does the striker plate feel loose at all generally? have you tried re-securing it?
adz83
no it feels fine, just it seems to allow the tailgate to move around too much hence the rattle.
Stoney871
Probably just need to realign the lock.
adz83
How would i go about doing that? Thanks.
jeebowhite
basically you need to take the plastic cowling off the bootlid, and then get at the nuts, loosen then amd realign it, then tighten them back up.
