MR5 H0LL
I was wondering if someone could help me. My Ka (2004 Collection) has been in for its MOT today and although it passed it did get an advisory for offside front lower suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement. This means nothing to me the guy in the garage reckons it will be around £200, does this sound about right? It looks to me after a bit of research that its just a bit of rubber so £200 seems a lot. What involved in actually replacing these? Any help would be great thanks
delboy
hi m8 it's called a wishbone or lower suspension arm ford will be £95.00 as i had to fit one last weekend. best place to get it from it www.buypartsby.co.uk they will be loads cheaper about £20.00 it's quite an easy job to do jack car up remove wheel undo the bolt from under the arm behind brake disk & hit the bolt out undo the rtack rod nut & hit that off the lower arm then hit off the lower arm from the suspension (lump hammer for this ) then you will see the 2 bolst that hold the arm onto the body remove them & hit them out & remove the arm then fit it all back together. it's an hour job. you may find it's best to do both sides at the same time as it may make the handling of the car a little odd due to 1 side being tight & the other looser. don't take to garage m8 best to do it yourself or ask a m8 to help you. you will need axl stands for the job or similar as i don't trust the jack that comeas with the car when you order your part it's best to phone it through as you will need to tell them if it's power steering or not as they lower arms do differ m8
