kelisa
Hi, i have a 1998 mondeo and have lost the master key. The spare black key wont start the car but does everything else that it should. Why wont it start? When i turn the key the LCD by the clock flashes fast for 1 minute then 2 slow flashes followed by 4 faster ones, So i presume its error code 24? Can someone please tell me what the code means and also is there a way to bypass the immobiliser so i can still drive the car till I have enough money to take to ford dealer. Its an old car and not sure its even worth the $400+ ford have quoted me. Desperate here HELP PLEASE :(
Stoney871
Does your existing key have a transponder chip in it? If not then that may be the reason it won't start. I'd recommend getting a diagnostic done to look for full error codes from the ECU.
kelisa
Yes it has a transponder in it, it must be broken. I would love to take it to ford, but money is super tight at the moment and dont have the spare cash. Grr so frustrating, I just want my car to start!
