gstore
Hi my mondeo has just started with a weird noise when I turn the key to fire up and it stops when the engine turns over. The only problem is I can't describe the sound it's a little like a squeal but not high pitched. Help lol Sent from my C6903 using Ford OC mobile app
Christianiani
Hi gstore, If it's like the noise I had then it could be your starter. Does the car actually turn over and start when it squeals or do you have to stop and try again? It could be DMF dust building up in the starter motor so it could be showing a bigger problem elsewhere! I hope not though mate. Hope this helps, Chris. FOCA
Clutch seams Ok bit is quite low Sent from my C6903 using Ford OC mobile app DMF is connected to the clutch but they are 2 different things DMF may just be making a noise now, but in time it can break up and the dust fills the starter motor up, the starter or its actuator can sieze Normally the DMF, 2 parts on the clutch and CSC are replaced together, and often along with the starter motor
