HShaw
Just my luck.... Yesterday, after weeks of thinking, I took the plunge and spent a considerable sum of money on a boardman mountain bike. Just this morning, in the post, I got the discount card which gives 15% off purchases and 10% off bicycles... Moral of the story... just wait that one extra day... damn it! I guess this is my punishment for selling my fiesta ecoboost ZS :( Just wanted to share my disappointment with you all!

jeebowhite
that is certainly a sod! Take the bike back, demand a refund, then buy it again with the card :D:D:D
alexp999
You could always see if they will honour the discount, even if it is with vouchers.
HShaw
Just starting out, the lincolnshire wolds is on my door step so most of my time will probably be spent around there. Although planning to go to Dalby/Sherwood once the bike is sorted! You do much riding yourself?
HShaw
James and Alex, Those were my exact thoughts but I took the bike to be built at my local bike shop, so I'm unsure if they'd even consider taking it back!
jeebowhite
You could always take the receipt and as Alex said, provide them the card and see if they would honour thediscount. Worst they can do is say no!
alexp999
Believe it or not I was actually quite impressed with Halfords Customer service centre a while back, after I purchased some number plate screws. The screws snapped off inside the bumper and I had to get a colleague to use a dremel to get them out for me. Rang up the call centre and they sent out vouchers, no quibbles. Didn't even have to return them...
HShaw
Yeah you guys have a fair point. I'll pop in later on / tomorrow when I'll be buying some bits and bobs. I'll be really impressed if I managed to get 10% back though. Fingers crossed!
SeanW
Still waiting for mine to arrive, but already have a fair sized shopping list lol Mostly bike related too - I'm mid rebuild of my old bike, and also hope to explore the Wolds (only down the road) Sent from my GT-I9300 using Ford OC mobile app
HShaw
My shopping list is increasing every time I visit the Halfords website. 15% is too much of a boon!

Although planning to go to Dalby/Sherwood once the bike is sorted! You do much riding yourself? sounds good m8 :) and yh i do its more of my summer holiday, have a static carvaan on the coast and ride it along the country side with missus, or when i go with some lads we go to trail routes and take some cameras to get some nice shots, been to derbyshire, highlands and also when i went to scotland for work i toke my bike in the car and done some riding havnt a clue what the town was called in scotland but it was an epic ride one of the best ive done, ive looked into doing a riding holiday with some m8s maybe in usa somewhere but nothing has happened yet, its a good sport to get into, i recommend looking at speedos with gps or at least a hand full of usful things, i have one i use with endomono an iPhone app and tracks everything ive done by gps good when you get lost in some woods lol happened to me many of times haha lets go left straight on half hour later of F*** wheres the car again ?? :D
HShaw
Sounds like a good time to me mate! All these speedos/gps units seem to be pricey! Might invest in one when my riding gets a bit more regular. Went on a 16ish mile trip through some local fields/back roads to test the new bike out. Love it! b1g_dav3
I did well, work were offering 50% off a bike from Halfords with Interest Free Credit taken, so the bike should have been £900, with my 10% it was down to £810, with the IFC it's costing me £405 over 24 months :P
