We got stuck in traffic yesterday evening on the A3 for about 20 minutes which was a bit annoying.

Cheered me up to find that the cause was police had surrounded a Corsa, with the yobbo driver in cuffs and dogs swarming the inside. Must've been a druggie that couldn't yet afford a BMW.

Didn't think we had that kind of people in Surrey. :D

Indeed, the driver SHOULD NOT have stopped, but the Corsa driver was being an absolute twit about it. But then again, I wouldn't expect anything less from the owner of a Vauxhall.

....makes me wonder if it's more to do with the drivers than the car?? I mean my sister is the type to get a zafira or something like that, and she's also the kind to kill a car with her driving...

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if they're all using it, Ford's included...

I believe it's a fairly simple process, cars get stuck on rolling roads to test emissions and mpg etc, and to stop them freaking out about 1 set of wheels moving and the others not, they end up in some test mode, therefore they burn 'cleaner'....

Do we ever really get the advertised mpg?

Interesting point, maybe by driving around with mcdonalds trays under our rear wheels and the handbrake on we'll improve efficiency!

Point is, when you see the advert that states 50 million mpg and you only get 40mpg, you have to take a view that, Yeh sure, maybe 10 mpg is due to your driving but the other 49,999,950 mpg is probably a bit of skullduggery or lack of realistic testing...

Unfortunately I wasn't in a position to take a picture, but I saw earlier that a corsa wanted to kiss a fiesta (or focus) bottom earlier, from what I could tell the Ford damage was superficial, corsa looked like a write off...

Did anyone see watchdog this week about the zafira spontaneously combusting? Don't think Vauxhall response was very helpful either.

But at least there's a few less of them on the road now

I saw a red hatchback which had made its way into some trees on the side of the A66 today, didn't get a good look at it but I would bet some amount of money that it was a Vauxhall. I might try and get the footage off my dashcam and find the proof :)
