It's a lovely engine!

I think these surveys are also based on dealership experiences and not a reflection of the vehicle only which may be why Ford rank so loe

Yeah you could be right, but the manufacturers should be putting more effort into improving customer experiences at the franchised dealerships. There is a big Ford sign in at the entrance of every dealership, so the customer doesn't care if it's a franchise - it's just Ford as far as most people are concerned.

Just a shame about the rest of it . . . :(

Agreed and CRC need completely overhauling.

Just making the point that the satisfaction is usually a result of the dealer and not a reflection on the quality of the car.

This is the problem SEAT has had, much better built than they were but a legacy of poor dealers.

If I wanted reliability I'd buy Japanese.

My dad's 13 plate RCZ is nicely built (but then it is built by Magna Steyr in Austria and not Peugeot), however the bluetooth is flaky (despite numerous updates) and the aircon has decided to start working when it wants. It has also had DPF sensor faults (despite him doing the perfect journeys for a diesel).

I have never found customer satisfaction surveys to make much sense. By far the biggest influence on customer satisfaction is the dealer network which has nothing to do with the manufacturer as they are all franchises.

If you did customer satisfaction for Peugeot in my area it would be towards the bottom as every single dealer has been swallowed up by Westover, they also have the Renault franchise and loads of others. They are the most useless bunch of incompetent dealers I have ever come across. My dad has to travel 45-60mins to get to a more competent dealer not operated by Westover.

I think this is the reason Ford are disproportionately represented in surveys, they have by far the biggest dealer network, which means more chances of them being awful (and most of the big groups are). It is a bit like when articles/programs report that Aviva has the most complaints - well it will do, it has the most customers!

Your Dad doesn't want to experience Westover Bodyshop either, unfortunately they are the insurers approved bodyshop for LV. :(

Following her collision of 2006, my Mum's Mk1 Focus came back, poorly reassembled, with trim parts and fixings missing :(

He is with LV I think, but no way would it go there, lol.

I always go with an insurer that lets you pick your own repairer (even if it costs more).

You know I'm actually surprised Westover hasn't taken over the Vauxhall dealers yet, seem right up their street...

My Dad was alive at the time, and just went with LVs suggestion.

You can go where you want with LV, but I think they try and persuade you otherwise.

Do you remember the Trident group trying to take over all the local dealerships, in the late 1990's and going bust in the process? They apparently had ambition to merge/takeover with Westover.

I've got to admit, I'm neither with Chris or against him on this topic... It's hard to complain about cheap items, but then it's easy to be surprised about them...

For instance Renault vans (trafic and then vivaro which is somehow vauxhall, which is weird because the plastic panels still have Renault written underneath them!) are very good vans in terms of body work, they have clutch and gearbox problems which you don't want in any vehicle, however you can buy a brand new one for about 13-15k.....

Now take the likes of a new transporter (VW) or transit, you're looking at least 25k+...

Now I'm not saying that scale is the same across the board, however one can't expect a high class top car at low prices... Everything comes with a sacrifice.

Also to consider is how they are driven, I've never owned a brand new car, I've driven one for a week or so, but you're entirely reliant on previous owners care and I KNOW for instance, I'd NEVER buy a car off either of my sisters... But we don't get that info from anyone else selling cars...

So add it up, if you buy am expensive car with a cheap owner, you may still get problems, but buy a cheap car off a cheap owner and you're guaranteed...

My father in law as a 21 yr old mondeo, has had it from new, it's a diesel and 99% of its life has been driving in Jersey, lots of short trips, gear changes galore and 40mph max limit... It's got 140,000 miles I think, it had clutch changed last year and new turbo this year... So Ford is great? Owner is gentle driver? Or both?

Wow

What a steal!!

Probably James trying to keep himself safe while motoring...

Hahaha!!

Because your high value lump of **** really requires two spaces in an extremely busy car park...

When my set of lights changed, and I moved closer to it - I could see they were, in fact catering sized tins of baked beans! He hadn't even bothered removing the labels

That's because they are the same van lol

Designed by Renault, built in Luton (I think we all know who THAT is lol)

I know it's the same van in terms of design, you just think that if they change all the tags on a Renault van to vauxhall, that they'd some how have their own panels also...

Look under the bonnet of the Fiat 500, Panda, Ka & Corsa and it's a mish mash of names lol

Just spotted a Corsa on EastEnders... Jane looked gutted when receiving it for xmas, she'd have preferred a Fiesta obviously! ;)

Yes I noticed that too! She looked gutted.

you guys actually watch that trash? I'd rather drive a corsa than watch eastenders...

Same here. I sometimes put it on just as background noise but wouldn't want to actually watch it. Emmerdale is fine and Coronation Street bearable, but Eastenders... Nah!

The Mrs watches them religiously, unfortunately it's there however I too was amused by the corsa. Told the Mrs the reason she decided 'this ends tonight' I'd because the corsa was the final straw. Up until then she was defending and protecting so vauxhall pushed her over the edge

Careful what you wish for!! :P

I don't like the Northern ones, but for some reason I don't mind EastEnders... :(

Haha, not surprised tbh, Ian gets to drive a nice Passat estate and lumps her with a horrible brown Corsa... Have you seen Corsa boots as well? No way she's gonna fit another body in there if the kid carries on... That said, I didn't realise 350z boots were big enough to fit bodies in either, I'm clearly not putting effort in. ;)
