Extended Warranty

Featured Replies

As stated above, I collected my new Titanium in June 2013 and extended my warranty at the dealer in April 2014 without any problems.

Hi Mariner

With some dealers allowing customers to buy the warranty and many others who don't, It appears to be hit or miss and it really should not be that way.

My dealer said no and I complained and said that when I bought the car last November 2013, the salesman did not offer me the extended warranty and that was not my fault but they were not interested so I called Ford Protect and explained that to them and the lady I spoke to said that she would happily sell me the warranty but added that it was not up to her and advised me to go to the dealers sales manager because he was the only person who could do something about it.

I complained again via email to my dealer and I got a reply back saying that they may have a way to sort the warranty out which would involve "back dating a supplementary invoice" and, if I was to call in tomorrow, they are sure that they could sort this out for me.

Sounds a bit ridiculous but, that's probably the sort of thing that the lady at Ford Protect meant. i.e. The dealer has ways of working around the rules - if it works, then I'll buy it.

I'll post back with an update tomorrow afternoon.

Sounds interesting David - Could be that's what my dealer did but they didn't enlighten me as to how it was accomplished.

Good luck with it and keep us informed! :-)

Hi Mariner

Well, I purchased my Ford Protect extended warranty for £260 two days ago.

Basically, my dealer took payment and needs to backdate a 'supplementary invoice' (to cover Ford Protect) and submit it.

I should be receiving the documentation over the next few days.

Excellent news! I thought it would be possible.
