St150 Bluefin Remap?

Featured Replies

What are people's experience with this remap? Is it really worth it? What's the best remap for this car?

You mean a mk6/6.5 ST150? If so it's an N/A engine so a map won't do a lot really. Mountune do kits for the car that boosts power suitably for the car. But honestly cams, pistons and intake/exhaust are where power is gained.

I would have a ring around mate and see what some places can get out of it. Have you got any performance upgrades on the car at all?

To be fair I don't think it's worth the £££ to horse with a N/A engine..

Superchips do a map for the 150... Which gives 10nhp/13nm @ 229 (249 if you want the bluefin unit) which is just under £23 per pony.

Think pumaspeed do a stage two with a manifold that'll get you up to around180 odd but it's around 800 fully fitted.. As mentioned already have a ring round but not sure sure you'll get more than 10-15 out of a map :(

Too late, I've bought a 2nd hand bluefin haha. Yep, I've got a k & n induction kit and a cat back exhaust, not sure on the make.

Yep, every pony helps :P. I've bought a 2nd hand one at £40 and its £115 for a reset so it's not too bad. I'll buy the manifold etc bit by bit eventually

Ah that's not too bad, least you've made a bit of a saving in comparison! Let us know how it drives :) I had a bluefin on my zs tdci and it flew!

What sort of power are you wanting to get to?

Probably as high as possible without supercharging it, everything will be bought bit by bit though

I had the bluefin on my st 150 and to be honest I never really noticed much of a difference.

I'm not surprised, an extra 10 brakes not much but better than nothing

Like what's said above mate the power is with a full exhaust system, cams etc and I'd also look for an uprated throttle body. But all of that is quite expensive so I don't know if it would be worth just waiting until you get something turbo.

Hmm yeah, it's pricey but it's the same for any car. I'll probably get all that eventually.

Yeah mate, would be good if you got it all but it just depends how long you want to keep the car haha

Yep, I'll wait and see. Probably keep it for at least a year

Have a look at Jamsport, they do there 200 kit. Cams, Cosworth inlet manifold, 60mm throttle body, induction, full exhaust inc 4-1 manifold. Think it would be around £2500-£3000.

With a K&N induction and catback + remap you should be around 160hp

(you need to make sure you have uprated exhaust flexi as that is where the restriction is on the ST)

Yeah, that's a bit pricey the now haha, I'll be buying stuff big by bit.

Yeah, I thought it would be about that, I'm gonna get a decat next. Is the flexi in between the manifold and cat?

Sent from my iPad using Ford OC

That's what I am planning to do as well, as it's so much money to get more power out of a N/A engine haha

Sounds good buddy. Everybody goes on about a N/A engine haha. What actualy is that?

An N/A engine is naturally aspirated. As in the engine just sucks in air. Forced indiction would be like a Turbo, supercharger or both. With a forced induction engine they can be re-mapped easily to increase the boost from the turbo/supercharger, but Naturally aspirated engines can't.

Yeah, that's a bit pricey the now haha, I'll be buying stuff big by bit.
