flo66
I recently purchased a Fiesta 1.0T 100 Ecobost. I do a lot of driving in built up areas and the city, so there is a lot of keeping to 30mph. I'm finding that 4th gear is too high to keep to 30mph and have to keep changing down to 3rd gear to keep to the speed limit. I have a 1997 1.6 ford escort that allows me to keep in 4th gear and the torque is so good it will pull with no trouble down to 20mph. I did a lot a research on the fiesta before purchase but never can across a mention of this and am a bit disappointed as I seem to be using the gears a lot, maybe I should have bought a model with powershift! Rogue2
I recently got a fiesta 1.0T 125 ecoboost & I found the same. It takes a little getting used to but the fuel economy more than makes up for it though, I had a 1.4 Zetec fiesta previously & it used twice as much petrol than this ecoboost fiesta. Just remember not to change from 3rd gear upto 4th gear until you need to do 40mph or more. You will soon get used to it.
MattDRX
It's called foreign designed and built cars. You'll find they do 50kph so well these days and hate 30mph. They are just not designed for mph speed limits. Give them a go using the kph indicator and you'll how much better the gearing feels. Only exception I've found is Honda.
