    I've had a s**t day today as, due to the economic climate, we've had to say goodbye to some more people with whom I've worked for the last decade or so.

    Unfortunately that's the global situation at the moment......let's hope that we'll start seeing some recovery soon....... :)

    Guess I am kind of lucky working for the local authority - pay is not good but as we look after children then there is not much the council can do - if a child needs to be taken into care then it has to be taken into care.

    Pay is not good but it is about as a safe a job as you can get these days

    Paul - agreed, teaching is a very attractive career for lots of people at the moment due to ts security. I'm glad I'm already fixed within it.
