Things I Don't Like

@Lenny the good thing with uni is I can tell a friend to sign me in 😂. Also best thing is the lecture slides are available online so can look at them there.

That's probably worse!! :laugh:  Depends what ward you're on though...

The ward I work in is where people come into after coming from A&E.

I also believe I did well enough in the aptitude tests on my application to get moved to the shortlisting stage. Just praying now I get an interview 🙏. Now I'm doing 2 placements now in 2 hospitals each week which hopefully will show my dedication.

Hmm, this is weird...

Exterior temp keeps rising until it gets to this:

IMG_20200207_132809397.thumb.jpg.2170b6293d4da13cc573f44b22b8c7d1.jpg

But unplug the temp probe and it works again:

Reckon I can buy a new temp probe?  I'm not getting the desired results Googling 'probe'... :unsure:

I have got a closer pic of the pic of the probe but it won't upload, just keep getting -200 error.

Screenshot the picture and upload it 👍. I sadly got my results for one of my modules and sadly failed it😭. My teacher thankfully is supportive and said my mark isn't low enough for me to resit it however I can't get those marks for more than 2 modules.

Good idea! :biggrin:

Shame about the failed module but I'm glad the teacher is supportive. :smile:

I don't like the strong winds were currently experiencing today which has been going on since around 16:00 yesterday;

I was looking forward to taking Liam our Bearnese Beagle for another 3-4 hour Mountainous forest walk today as it's my one full day off work until next Sunday again.

Seems its going to be a local walk instead then spend the day on Netflix

Me too! We're right on the edge of our village so anything from the South West (like now) hits us full on. I normally walk a mile or so for a paper but this morning the Mrs pleaded with me to take the car, so I did ( just for her sake, you understand!😀).

Think I'd have done without the paper today!  Not sure I could even walk to the car this morning! :laugh:

I am genuinely worried about the French doors that have been creaking & groaning all night though...sounds like they're going to come flying in any minute! :unsure:   It's also only 15c in here this morning with the draughts and inop heater!  Might have to sit in the loo all day as that's the warmest room! :biggrin:

Our back garden is like a swimming pool; raining non stop

The puddle in the centre is around 10 inches deep which was a hole the dog dug out himself lol

He only goes to the toilet on grass and doesn't want to get dirty; hes stepping around like a cat 😂

Noticed that too. At midnight was wondering what that noise was outside.

I've noticed in my area I've been seeing some nice expensive cars parked on the main road. There's estate agents there so believe the owners must be working there. There's a audi SQ7 parked on the the driveway of one, a c63 parked opposite the other. Was looking at the typical salary of these estate agents. So trainees earn up to 20k, experienced agents get 25 - 60k with commission then can be up to 100k if in managerial positions in a high end company in London. This seems I'd say probably average for most jobs but I notice in my hospital for example I don't see any flashy cars there especially doctors just drive around in ordinary newer cars. There's a guy featured on a YouTube channel who says he's an estate agent and has a c63.

Need to stop looking at these stuff. Just pray I get a good job I enjoy. Have no idea how much money will come out my wages for tax, student loans etc to make an educated guess on what I might take home from different salaries.

Different people have different interests,

Personally I pay a Mortgage put my excess money in to improving my home and my wife doesn't have to work which allows the kids to be looked after by her when there not in school,

A fellow work colleague lives in his girlfriend's house has two kids which his girlfriend's mother minds and his girlfriend's a teacher so hes just gotten a 70,000 euro alpha c4 with his monthly income.

Wouldn't be somthing I could see myself driving personally, the roof is level with the bottom of the wing mirrors on my already lowered mk2.5 focus.

I'd prefer investing in property and the quality of the interior, but I'm in the 30-40 category now 😅 I was all in to cars when in the 30-30 category

Exactly. My dad's friend lives in a flat which he paid off and would say his salary is around £55k. Years back he bought a £40k audi RS4. Then bought a Mercedes SLK55 AMG which probably was the same in price and now has a Peugeot RCZR which you can get for £15k. Everyones different like you said. My dad says to me he can only be able to afford a nice car when I start earning my own money.

Did you mean a alfa romeo 4C? They are about £40k here but would worry about reliability.

What my mum says to me is get a one bedroom flat then can get a nice car I want 😂. Saw a nice one bed flat for £165k so won't take long to get a 10% deposit. Then when the time comes I get married I can put it let to buy so it can pay towards the mortgage for the home I'd get.

Honestly though Lenny the main worry comes down to what job I get. There's this training course I'm looking at which trains you up to be a clinical scientist in a chosen specialism. I'm currently doing 2 placements now in 2 hospitals a week trying to get patient experience along with cardiology as that is something I'm planning on specialising in. One hospital I work in a ward which people come in after coming in accident and emergency. Their I try and do ECGs and vital sign tests on patients so it looks relevant to that training. The other hospital I recently started Im in the cardiac MRI department so look at heart mri results with a cardiologist and learn how they intpret it. Really is interesting which hopefully shows to people I'm interested rather than going just for the money.

At the moment I'm just praying my application gets put through to the interview stage 🙏. I did a biomed science degree which did teach some cardiology on it so hopefully it's relevant. My friends friend got into this training and did a medical science degree which is similar or the same to biomed.

I don't like the change in the barometer reading from yesterday to today!! :ohmy:

It’s literally raining sideways here.

The wind is carrying the rain like it was smoke or something.

Talking of smoke...  I've just watched someone trying to light a cigarette out there...  Highlight of my day so far. :laugh:

You know saying that need to make sure the umbrella on the table there is secure in. The last table there shattered as the umbrella lifted from the base and hit the glass

Not looking good out there. There's so much rain it gives the illusion that it's foggy

I got a lift to work today to allow my wife to have the focus for the day in order to bring the kids to school,

Soon after I got home from work she calls me to say;

The car wont start and shes sitting in Aldi Carpark 🤷‍♂️

Sent me a video showing the car key being turned then everything dies completely also says the capacitor in the boot which displays voltage is showing 11.2V

She phoned the AA whom jump started it three times but it wouldn't stay running on its own; so they put it on the truck and brought it home,

Hopefully it's just the battery or hopefully not the alternator; either way I cant fix if until I get paid on Thursday

hope its just the battery mate 😑

Nightmare. As you say though, hopefully just something simple like the battery.

Bit of an update; My work mate kindly dropped over this evening with some jump leads and we began to investigate the overall scale of the problem;

I first tried to unlock the car using the key fob 🤷‍♂️ took three attempts to unlock just the drivers door as the battery was so depleted,

Got in and connected jump leads; started no problem but still not enough power to run the electric power steering pump and the ABS light was also activate,

Left connected to the doner vehicle for twenty minutes then disconnected to take it for a drive; but as soon as the jump leads were removed from the battery; the gauges died followed by the engine as the voltage slowly dropped 11, 10, 09, and engine died at 8.2volts

Even the 1.0 Fared capacitor in the boot is saying "Low" now 😅

20200211_163336.thumb.jpg.379271a13b3d08a20a5d31c8e502c80b.jpg

I can't have it towed because its electric power steering 🙆‍♂️ so I've arranged for a recovery truck to collect it on Thursday morning from my house and bring it to my local mechanic to have the alternator replaced and possibly the battery.

Unfortunate but could have been alot worse all the same; it's a 1.6TDCi with 305,000km on the clock, still on factory fitted turbo which is remapped pushing additional Bhp😂 I have it since 0km brand new; ten years ago, all it ever needed was an injector seal and a battery up to now.

Great car.
