Things I Don't Like

Featured Replies

@TomsFocus your not feeling physically down are you? Could just be age related you never know but I wouldn't think you'd go down that quickly in a few years.

@iantt weren't you prescribed for any ear drops? Probably might be good when having a shower to try and clean the ears without putting too much water in and blocking it to try and keep it clean 👍. Think also if you use ear phones to try and keep them clean.

It's been on the decline for a while tbf, obviously my problems with food and anxiety etc don't help but I'm sure there's more to it than that.  GP isn't interested, just tells me it's 'probably' due to anxiety and dietician said it's 'probably' due to my low weight.  However my weight hasn't changed in the last decade so I don't really believe that myself.  Seems like I'm just being given generic OBD codes when I really need some specific Tomscan codes...although I'd worry about where the cable has to go!

Think we need to give you a remap to add some extra tompower in 😂

Has you or the doctor documented your weight? I'd only think of you try to have some carbs as it helps store extra energy in you. Getting older obviously doesn't help. I've heard from dad saying he's noticed with any pain he might of gotten from DIY to take longer to go. My grandad went hospital recently as he had a lot of pain in his leg after some recent DIY work.

A remap would be ideal!  Think I'd need some supporting mods too though!

I didn't visit a Doctor at all between 2003 and 2015 so no service history between those dates.  Up until last year I also hadn't visited the hospital since being chopped out of my Mum 28 years ago...I have a totally empty file lol.  I've been keeping an eye on my weight myself but not recording it, it dropped massively during high school around 2007 and I just haven't been able to put it back on since.  I really struggle to get food in though, and what I do eat is very limited.  And then obviously it goes through and comes out again pretty quickly as well.  I hate having food inside me though, hate the feeling of everything inside, moving about and knowing it's got to come out again one way or another which is why I restrict portions etc...I've wondered if it's an actual eating disorder, but it's not anorexia as I don't do it because of feeling fat.

I'm hoping your Dad is a fair bit older than me lol!!  I do expect more aches and pains as I get older, as with everyone, but not being able to lift a tool box from one room to another without feeling ill is just daft.   I'm sure most of the older guys on here are still into their DIY and can do so without too much trouble.  My 'Uncles' (technically not related lol) are in their 50s and still renovating houses and working full time...one is even a lorry tech!  I also remember helping my Grandad with DIY and garden stuff well into his 70s, he had terrible breathing problems and was told he wouldn't even live past 40 let alone still be doing DIY lol.

I don't like this little confrontation I had in the morning on the bus. Was standing in the middle of the bus and saw this little accident on the right side. I was facing to the back with my head turned looking at the situation. A guy sitting in the back of the bus I could see him saying something. Couldn't tell if he was looking at me or saw someone he knew outside the bus. Turned around looking the other way. I then heard him walk up behind me and close the little window and walked back to his place. Could then hear him talking under his breath including him saying '**** deaf people' which did make me angry.

I've never answered back at anyone in public but if I did I'd try and calm him down and apologise or if I'm angry comment about how quiet he was when he was instructing me.

Back when I lived near the city and used public transport; I used to wear headphones which eliminates the noise of languages I dont understand aswell as unwanted conversations;

Your best not to get confrontational with those sort of people as most end up with nothing to lose in there lives which can make them quite violent; takes a huge lack of intelligence for a person to begin mouthing off towards strangers in a negative fashion and talk is cheap; they haven't got a clue who you are or wont even remember you in an hours time as everything in there lives will be someone else's problem at that stage and I've known alot of people with various forms of addictions in there lives aswell which makes them carry on in such fashion also.

Which makes them negative towards everyone as they inflict there opinions to bring everyone down to there level of emotion or discomfort; finding ways of doing so; such as closing windows when it's more comfortable for the majority to have it open they always tend to rebel against the majority and will go insanely far to do so when ignored which then makes that opinion of them even more obvious.

Ive grown up with them being some members in the family and I've later worked along side some others in recent years and they all carry on with the text book arrogance aswell as feelings of self superiority; everything is someone else's fault, this impacts on others but when you access everything its themselves that are the main issue inside there own head.

Dont get me wrong; I'm by no means a walk over or suggesting you to be neither; I see the good in everyone and have a high tolerance takes alot to get on my wrong side but when people do then you gotta evaluate the situation and play the game.

For negative strangers ignore them completely if possible or secondly kill em with kindness; as there main objective is to reduce your level of morale with there words of negatively; don't let them see that impact; talk to yourself and remain calm aswell as constantly sweet while planning your separation alternatively avoid interaction completely.

@Lenny thanks Lenny 👍. I think the problem with me is in situations like this I do feel a little upset inside which then just follows with anger. I haven't answered back at anyone yet in public and I hope I keep it that way. Reason why I hate travelling

Also doesn't help that I dwell on about it.

I tend to over think things alot, also I think its normal to feel a little upset as that is the perpetrators intention too,

I don't like hearing about the cases of CoronaVirus in the UK now. Also I believe we've left the EU now. Hope this doesn't affect people in terms of their lively hoods.

I don't like coming across a learner car this morning...2 foot from the kerb, facing the wrong way, on a busy main road shortly after a roundabout, next to a bus stop and opposite a junction...  In what world is that acceptable!? 🤦‍♂️  Poor kid doesn't have a chance with an instructor like that...and will probably now be traumatised by the huge queue having to try and pass them (plus an alighting bus) head on...

I'm pretty sure it's the same car I watched fail a 3 point turn last week too...crashed over a high kerb to complete the manoeuvre...as they came back towards me I realised there was no passenger, so presumably that was the instructor driving!! 😮  It's not just a car with an L plate slapped on, it's sign-written as one of the national companies so surely they have to go through some sort of instructor test!?

Did you notice the bus driver had no protection from the virus atall while the person sitting behind the driver was covered head to toe including an air hood 😂

The definition of hiring a contractor no regard for there safety or well being atall lol check it for yourself 01:14 onwards makes the movie django look like a soap opera 😂

I don't like hearing that a bakery near me is on fire and sending thick black smoke across the city.
What worries me more is that people are saying the smoke contains asbestos which is drifting across the city.

I don't like all the email notifications from here going into the junk folder...  I keep clicking 'not junk' on each one but they're still going in there.  Is that something the forum can change or down to the email provider?  It's only started happening this month.

What mail handler are you using?
I had that with Yahoo emails retrieved via Outlook last month so swapped back to the official Yahoo mail app and get them just fine now.
(Originally stopped using the Yahoo app as there seemed to be a long day in receiving new mail but problem has gone).

Ah, I'm also using Outlook but with Hotmail.  Maybe that's the issue then.

Looks to be, Outlook can be tweaky for sure.

I don't like that I've just read the MOT stats for cars passing and failing their first MOT at 3 years old.

The Ford Fiesta is in the top ten worst cars for failing the first MOT.

Data is based on MY2016 vehicles and 2019 as their first MOT.

Probably due to commonality more than anything. A large cross-section of owners, some of whom will be more neglectful.

Would agree there. Its like looking for salvaged cars for example. You'll see a lot of common cars on sale with accident and repair. I saw a brand new mk8 fiesta ST with less than a 1000 miles with rear end damage on copart.

Did it say what the common fails were for each car?

It's probably just stuff like headlight alignment (very common on first MOTs, sure they're not set tight at factory!) and tyres rather than anything bad.

Headlight adjustment and wiper blades seem to be some of the more common failure points according to https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-7912477/The-20-new-cars-likely-FAIL-MOT-test.html

I looked at the MOT history of a car recently and saw that it had failed a test and passed it later the same day. Reason for failure? Dirty number plate! Now I know there has to be standards but how long would it have taken to wipe the plate and save the hassle of a retest? One second!

Tbf, they're not allowed to alter anything during the test...but they should have given the plate a wipe beforehand as it's pretty obvious to see!!

I can just imagine the MOT tester saying 'sir we had to fail you as your registration plate was to dirty to reflect light'.

The owner must of been like 😠💦👋 - 'try now' then getting a pass 😂

I don't like it when I can't find something...  I live in a small studio flat, there aren't exactly many places for things to hide!! 😮

Just spent a good 30 minutes going through a 'misc' box looking for something that isn't there.

But on the plus side, I found a newspaper (remember those!) with an announcement from my 13th birthday...and car ads on the reverse...gave me a giggle seeing a 2004 Mondeo up for £18k and a 2003 Fiesta for £10k!
