Sooooo added to the list of things we dont like - tinpot power mad admins hahahhahahahaha

Largely different crowd over there.  Didn't last long myself either.  (Wasn't banned though lol).

Generally on forums and the like its an age thing, snowflakes haha just dont get those of certain ages.

Don't like suddenly receiving a load of spam emails over the last 48 hours.  Rarely get any normally!  They've all gone into the spam folder but I'm now wondering what could have caused it.  Don't think I've been on any unusual sites recently.

TalkFord is very much an older crowd lol!  Facebook groups are where you'll find more youngsters.

Facebook motoring groups seem very aggressive and don't believe what your trying to say and help out. I gave up pretty quick on the Mondeo mk5 Facebook group. Some right ***** holes on there.

Oh yeah, lost count of the number of car buying sites I put my details in last week.  That's probably it! 🤦‍♂️

My elderly mother quoted a saying today I had never heard of before. Can't be repeated , but it's suprising what sayings were used by folk who are now in there 80's 90's . Very non pc now.

My gran who passed away in the early 70's used to come out with all sorts of things (in total innocence) that would probably get her arrested for "hate crime" these days. Then again, why on earth people take so much notice of the PC brigade is beyond me.

That keeps happening to me also. I'll go ages without seeing one then - wham! 25+ a day for a while. I'd love to hear any theories about what sparks it off.

The 1955 movie, The Dam Busters, has a dog (an affable black labrador) belonging to the captain of the squad. It's a movie I've seen often, the offensive name has often just been clipped out, however last year (maybe by error?) Ch4 broadcast a version using the original. Quite recently, I also saw a version where the name had been quite seamlessly overdubbed to, 'Trigger'.

eeeny meeeny miny mo, i grew up with that dogs name being catch a something by his toe, allegdely now its tiger ?

I grew up in the 90's where it was replaced by 'fish'...  (Often questioned it as fish don't have toes!)

My Nan comes out with some awful non PC words, though certainly not innocently.  Sadly, that's the result of living a fairly isolated rural life for the last 50 years.  I'd like to hope it'll be different nowadays with the internet and a lot more diversity on TV etc.  Though there's still a lot of unfounded hate around unfortunately.

I was brought up in the 60s + 70s, where we were absolutely taught, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me..." I have a thick skin for insults because of that, would quite like this to come back so we can concentrate on proper things to worry about, for example rather than have Roald Dahl's books re-written so as not to offend!...

We all know that statement isn't true.  It was banded about when I was at school as well.

I have a feeling this is going to be another of those things where we'll have to agree to disagree.

Well, I had several 'distinct' features that caused me to be bullied at school, it certainly helped me... Yep, we can disagree.

News just in .........

I've been 'Un Banned' from Talkford 🤣

Need to pop over there and spam them now 🤣🤣 Anyone have links to Airline tickets ? 🤔

Looks like these are still flooding in!  75 junk emails over this weekend.  Hoping they'll just stop on their own within a few days!

When you say, '75 junk emails', do you mean that they are directed to your, 'inbox', or do they just go to your 'spam' folder?

depends on your email engine as to what gets through

I use Gmail it learns and removes 90%, the rest i just tag as spam and it learns, lucky if i get 1 a week most just go straight in the spam folder. I also have a dedicated email adress i use for anyone i suspect will spam me. I also use the ad-blockers you can add as extensions, cleans up these spammed sites with ease.

They've all gone into the spam folder.  So it's not a massive inconvenience, but does mean that I could miss a genuine email that's accidentally gone into the spam folder with this rate of spam filling it up.

Same problem I have. My usual email provider is very effective at picking up spam and putting it into that folder, but I still need to check regularly for the odd genuine email which gets in there.
