I had an emergency gallbladder removal operation a few years back (when the NHS still did stuff). I have never had pain like it, begging the hospital for Morphine, in tears whilst I was doing it. They say the pain is as bad as a woman giving birth, but I still identify as a man, so can't really comment 😂

Gallstones seem to be on the increase, unless people just talk about them more nowadays?  Both my Mum and her partner have had them.  My Nan had them.  They've been mentioned in comedy more than once.  (Roisin Conaty was one of them iirc).  Then Lee Mack devoted an entire episode to them in the latest series of Not Going Out!

I'd read that they were generally something women got but it seems to be about half and half now?

It's something that I've been worried about for a long time as I know a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet are one of the biggest factors, and sadly something I can't change myself due to other health issues.

You're not a 'member' here in that you don't pay an annual premium, you are a contributor, so there's really no advantage to have your account deleted. Good luck with your Honda...

I've got a Hyundai , and an electric one at that. so I'd better leave too🤣🤣🤣

Actually I won't go just yet, won't be long until I've have had my milk float 12 months then I give a real life account of owning an ev. Bet you all excited about that. 🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱

I've also been Fordless for the past few months, with no intentions of buying another.

FOC will be pretty quiet if they make Ford ownership a requirement!

He hasn't been back since, maybe he's already no longer with us (web site, not lack of mortality LOL)

Up until November last year, I've not had much to deal with other than half of my life living with Crohn's (which thankfully hasn't needed anything other than medication to keep it in check, no surgey etc.).

Then November I had my first kidney stone pass. The barsteward was ~3mm in size and I swear I would have preferred to have passed out with the pain that I endured. Yes, it's been said that it's worse than child birth and I can testify. The first lot of pain medication made no difference (IV paracetamol) and oral morphine didn't help either. It wasn't until I had some IV morhphine did things help.

June this year I had the second barsteward pass, and knowing what was coming I tried to get some pain relief sooner but made a mistake in visiting a local minor injuries clinic that was 2 minutes up the road from our house, rather than travel to the A&E ~40 minutes further away. Needless to say while the medics did there best to help me, it took the best part of ~3 hours before I was given a wonderful suppository pain relief at the A&E which within ~5 minutes magically took away the pain. It was after being awake for about 2 days solid, that I found out I then had gallstones, but had no capacity to ask more informaton at the time before I got home and fell asleep later that day.

Things have since taken a further downturn and whatever is going on with the gallstones is getting as painful as the kindey stones, but is on/off at the moment. Currently awaiting an MRI and some other fun diagnositic tests in the comng weeks. Touch wood, I'm relatively ok for the time being, but if it gets as painful as the kidney stones, I'll be right up at A&E again asking for the wonderful suppository they gave me last time 🤣 .

I feel for you! A few years ago I was mowing mum's lawn with her flymo, caught a stone which went flying into the main living room window! East done, but an expensive accident...

I can hear it cracking still. I'm hoping it stays in one piece, but for extra measure I put a bit of duct tape on. 🤣

Anyone for noughts and crosses? Already got a cross one inside. 🤣

It’s designed to crumble in to tiny pieces so you can’t get cut falling through it. It will want to disintegrate like car glass does and go everywhere. That should hopefully help for now though!

I'm wondering how long it will take to get a replacement patio doors.

You should not need a new door, just a new Double Glazed Unit to fit in the frame.

Are you sure you have enough 🤣

Can never have enough.

watched enough crime documentaries to know that. 🤣

On another don't like, late this afternoon I broke a tooth at the back of my mouth. How? No idea. Must have been a bit dodgy for a while. Anyway cant ring up to get dentist appointment yet but the tooth has been left with a very sharp edge ripping into the inside of my check. Very painfull.

So I brought home a small file from work and this evening got to work filing that sharp tooth down. Was tricky but managed it.

An old glaziers trick is to lightly apply cling film to it. Till you can get a new unit but that wont be cheap to replace.
