I'd try & book it in a few days earlier.

  • Take the car elsewhere, it doesn't have to go to Fraud to maintain the warranty, as long as they stamp the book it's valid. I wouldn't worry about resale value either, it will make no difference to d

Oil is the lifeblood of any engine - buy the best you can afford.

If you go on Etis you can get a list of all the things that are meant to be included in the service.

I hate it when they do that, they used to use a white grease that just goes everywhere, makes a right mess.

You'd hate it even more when the dry contact between the link and door started squealing, or even corroding as there is no lubrication and extra protection without that grease. If there is too much, just ask them to wipe the excess off, or do it yourself.

Yes it is, they have a check list to go through, they would have checked the brake pads/discs. Should have given you a copy of the checklist.

They do a set number of checks, a service by a dealer isn't just an oil, filters and plug change like small garages or people think it is.

I just looked at the checklist from Etis and apparently the wheels don't need to come off, but it probably makes it easier: "With wheels on, check brake pads and discs for wear".

I do ask them not to, I use a clear grease and apply it where needed, instead of sprayed liberally in the general area.

Little random

How much lower is st to standard? And would springs fit my 1.0 EcoBoost:

It's 15mm lower than standard, but has modified suspension components so the springs might not fit. I'd just go with springs designed for a standard Fiesta.

If you're going for springs, get the eibach redlines, £180 for a set and worth every penny, had them in mine for a few months and then sold them to my mate for his red edition only cause I wanted more lows!:P

See a don't want to lower too much (too many speed bumps in my area!)

The best way to book a Annual service is to head online and go to ford.co.uk right hand side look under owners services and select book service, select your car and interval then type your post code and see the participating dealerships locally. Select a time and date and book.

You can often get promotions here and deselect options like 'winter check' 'wash n vac' by just having the basic ford approved service. Check it out and see the price differences online.

Or just go to a place like tyre kings (rapid fit) and save a load! Same service less pricey

Here is link to a post I made ages ago about saving money on services and I managed to get a few ppl to save quite a bit

Let me know how much you saved

I'm quite lucky that I'm just a 30 min walk from what seems to be a good Ford (and Mountune) dealer. They're charging me £130 for the service so that's not bad. Just remembered I need to ask them how to make sure the breakdown cover continues.

And to make sure you keep the warranty going, do you just need to have the book stamped by a Ford dealer?

Aye mate Ford dealer or a Ford approved garage

Mine was serviced with arnold Clark. Not my normal first port of call but I took out 2 services when I bought the car. Seems to have been done ok and had nothing extra to pay on the day. They did offer me a petrol treatment at 18 quid but said no thanks.

Got the car back and all is well :). They sorted my breakdown cover with that "Blueservice" thing. He said it's still the same as the first year although for some reason the phone number is different.

I remember with my older cars they seemed somehow better after a service, but this one seems exactly the same lol, I suppose that's what you should expect with a 1 year old car. Now I'm going to spy on the inside of their garage with my dashcam footage :P

Let us know what u see Phil lol

Saw them taking the car for a "test drive", but it was a bit like a joy ride lol. I think he was just making sure the engine is working as it should but I don't know. Is a test drive usually done as part of a service?

I'll be lucky to see change out of £300!! Went to the dealer today (Perry's HW) and was quoted £279 for the ST's first service..

Think I'll pass on that :')

Anyone local to Bucks/Oxford who's had a better quote? Will check out that 'approved garage, same service but half the price' option later :') any restrictions on where I can take it?

Wow that's a bit expensive, what are they going to do, rebuild the engine?

Just make sure wherever you take it that the warranty won't be affected. I don't know if they have to be Ford approved or just use original Ford parts.
