Phil 87
We set off for just after 6 from woodhall last year thanks to me been late. and we had no problems and to be fair we was at the front of the group great position and people where still arriving for a hour after Us I think we are over thinking it to be honest You could be right, and it was fun driving in with so many other cars around. Maybe if we try and set off for 5:30 we'll be ok considering there are more roadworks on the M1 than there were last year. What is the plan if it is chucking it down on route? - I may need to stop somewhere and use a power washer somewhere. I think Phil's right about cleaning when we get there, even if it rains the car's won't be that dirty, especially when every self respecting Ford owner will be cleaning and polishing their car the day before Ford Fair ;) But I think there is a decent car wash place nearby, I remember seeing it on a Ford Fair video last year.
Stoney871
There is a garage at Towcester (next to the Travelodge I'm staying in on the 1st). Post code for satnav is NN12 6TQ. I'll be needing it after coming up from Devon to wash off all the dead bugs and road crud.
Stoney871
The garage is only a couple of miles up from Silverstone by the way so could be a good rally point.

All fabrics and plastics in the interior are sealed too.. up to a fashion, even with CC or gtechniq.. I suppose you can't completly seal it without wrapping it in cling film! Haha I've got to fit enough bags in the remaining boot space for 4 people (two of which are female.. enough said)

Phil 87
I have a hugeeeee detailers bag it just about fits in my Fiesta Boot :P - Hopefully it keeps nice! I still need to get a few things for cleaning on the day, here's what I have so far: Lots of microfibre cloths microfibre mitt Wooly Mammoth drying towel Autoglym insect spray Glass spray Autoglym tyre dressing spray Autoglym wheel brush (maybe?) Still need to get some kind of detailing spray and maybe wheel cleaner spray because I've never done a wash without water before, can anyone recommend which ones to go for? Last year I got bored after cleaning off the dead bugs and wandered off to enjoy the fair lol, this time I want to do it properly (and hopefully find time to wax and seal a day or two before).

Although I'd have thought it would be anyway to be fair

Although I'd have thought it would be anyway to be fair http://www.santapod.co.uk/calendar.php It's an event that lasts from next Friday to Sunday so hopefully won't affect us too much, but I could be wrong. As it's just over a week to go I'm going to send a message to everyone just for final preparations and to make sure I have everyone's phone numbers.

Phil 87
I thought I might buy some snow foam to use next Saturday before the journey, but I didn't know you need a pressure washer to use it lol. I'd also need an outside tap that doesn't leak, need to get that fixed so I can wash my car properly (but for now I'll just do without a pressure washer). GingerFlame
You could try a Gloria Hand foamer instead of a pressure washer. Produce alot thicker foam.. just more effort
