GingerFlame
Whaaaaat?! There site says diesel tuning so I left it there... Guess I'll be making another visit :D
GingerFlame
So they do... Just not for my car :(
madmole
Go to the find my car bit, although most are diesels, there is a petrol section
madmole
That's a bummer, may be worth giving them a call, because the way the chip works is very generic, it may be they just need to knock up a cable But to be honest, with Petrol, you really need to change the cams to get better performance
GingerFlame
I'll email them and see what they say. Even if I just got a little more mpg with similar performance I'd be happy

Even if I just got a little more mpg with similar performance I'd be happy Yeah diesels used to be the main focus but obviously thats the domain name they are known for if not slightly misleading :P They do most versions of cars but don't advertise them all if there not popular, its worth asking them, they had no mk6 ecoboost versions (only the ST's) till I asked for them to be put on :) I believe they are still working on a proper find your car site function which should make it all easier :)

SNC
Well Spider can just pull it when ever they want but they haven't given any indication they are going to so your good for now :)
A_Jobson
That's alright then, thanks for that. I'm just worried about how much this might increase the insurance premium by! Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
SNC
I found out before hand when I got my first box, just told my existing insurer that I intended to add a tuning box and they said it would cost £25 for the box and £20 for the admin fees to adjust the existing policy (This was for my Giulietta which is a lot more to insure than my Ford), then when it came to renew my policy it was £100 cheaper with the box attached still. When I was getting a new policy for the new Fiesta there was about a £5 difference between having the box and not having the box. So basically (minus the £20 admin fee which are a sad one of formality to adjust an existing policy) it cost me £30 to add 2 boxes to two cars and then once the renewals are due it doesn't seem to make a difference whether you have it or not. Admiral/Diamond seem really mod friendly and quite cheap if your looking around at any time especially for multicars. Can't hurt to contact your insurer and say your considering it and see what if anything it would cost to add the box to your policy, you'll probably be suprised :)
A_Jobson
Wow that is surprising haha! I'll give them a call, then hopefully a box will be fitted soon :D Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Hazzadew
Performance pack arrived today! Was going to wait until the weekend and get some before/after comparison videos but now just want to fit it when I get home from work! madmole
Go for it, comparison is worthless as you can feel it's majorly better, you won't be going back to standard ever
SNC
Congrats Hazzadew, It would be nice to see some viedo review/comparisons but I have to agree with Madmole, we all just want to fit it strait away and you just feel the difference :D Also you wont go back ;) Don't get too hasty make sure you don't set it higher than it's factory set level and let it idle for 3 mins and then do some 30 miles of under 4k revs driving so it can best learn your engine. It'll be worth it once you have as you can set it to what ever setting you want after that and have some fun :D
Hazzadew
Thanks guys.. Ended up fitting it this evening, there was too much temptation! Finished my first 30 mile journey on Eco settings, going to move it up through the settings over the next few days! At first there wasn't much difference but at the miles ticked away, it did seem to loosen up.. Averaged 49 mpg on the journey too! Didn't get to really test it due to traffic. Most of all no warning lights came on. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC It hasn't been out of racemode since :D Not yet, will get a chance Saturday, then it has to come out as its service time on Tuesday. Lol you notice the difference more when you remove the box again for things like this, you'll be itching to get it back on as soon as it's done :P

SNC
Not as much as when I have to drive the Wife's Nissan Figaro whats worse its PINK! Get a performance pack on it XD haha but that's quite a classic little car she's got there, a big contrast from the focus.
madmole
I just wished the focus would be worth £7k when its 16 years old! No point, its only a 950cc metro engine with a 3 speed auto box on it and a Garret turbo. Only basic electronics (Still has a rotor arm and distributor!). picks up well to about 40 then struggles to get to 70 flat out, good little town car and suits the wife perfectly

I'm interested in hearing more about how it is with the bluetooth iMode as I may get one.
catnash
Mine came this morning, the run in was good, had an eml light only because i accidently did it in program 3, after talking to guys. got the right setting. Early to tell will be in eco mode whilst the children are in the car. Its really intuitive to use bluetooth so dont have to open the bonnett. I was the 8th to download the app from google play store. SNC
Congrats on getting the box, when you say you were in program 3 do you mean like fast road 3 setting (I think that's F3 on the app) or was it to do with the firmware slots (as in firmware slot 3)? Was it easy to do the initialisation of the app to the box and selecting the correct firmware number? Need more info on these new bluetooth boxes and let us know how your getting on with the box :D
