alec333
Hi All I'm wondering if anyone can help with a problem I have with my front wipers on my Focus. My front wipers stopped working last week after working the day before with no problems. I have checked and swapped the fuse and have even tried 2 new motors of which I had sent the 1st one back blaming the garage for selling me a duff motor. When I turn the switch on you can hear the fuse box working and also the rear wipers work I have even had a sparky check to make sure power is going through to the motor but still nothing. Any ideas
MONDEO TXS 2.2
Possible faulty wiper switch / stalk ?
MONDEO TXS 2.2
You hear the fuse box working ? Fuse boxes are silent - Do you mean the wiper motor working ?
alec333
well when I flick the wiper switch you can hear a noise from under the glove box side of the car. I did think it may be the wiper switch that was the problem but why does the rear work and also when the sparky checked it there was power (low speed) and increased power (full speed) so I don't see how it can be? MONDEO TXS 2.2
Possibly a relay clicking ? wiper motor whirring ? Maybe the linkage from the motor to the wiper arms is suspect ? Fuse boxes are silent unless they hiss / buzz which generally indicates a short circuit in the fusebox

jeebowhite
bad wiring is my guess. if the relay clicks then its working that far the problem is in wiring or the motor.
