kyle_saloontdci
Just put some 18" wheels on my focus and I want to order some lowering springs now, really tempted to get some 35mm apex springs but also torn between the 40mm h&r ones and the 30mm pi ones too. Don't want a rubbish ride so anyone got any experiences on lowering springs?? I put Eibach springs on my fabia vRS to replace my coilovers and don't particularly rate them I find them quite crashy and with them being the most expensive I'm put off them based on my experience of them on the fabia
Lenny
I've fitted Eibach lowering springs on mine and happy enough
WES180
I ran Eibachs on my Mondeo ST too and was happy with them.
theredfox
sounds like horses for courses but I tend to always go with recommendations
artscot79
Ford fit Eibach as standard to the st and only fit Eibach to the ford if you want it lowered .like any springs that are shorter and stiffer the ride wont be nice and soft but its not meant to be apex seem a good make pi were a cheap nasty brand when they first came out as above there's a reason people fit them
Dee_82
heres a question for you all, the zetec s has "sport" springs which I believe are 15mm drop. So getting 30mm springs is actually dropping it only 15mm? If your cars old an sagged a little then might it actually increase the ride height? If fitting 30s can you get away with not modifying the steering? what about 40s? Interesting in getting Eibach springs but wondering if its really worth it for the sake of 10mm or so
WES180
Are the Eibachs listed as model specific or just as Focus mk2/3 etc?
WES180
Just looked on their site and looks like you might be right if the Zetec S is 15mm lower than a standard model you might only get a 10mm drop. From the Eibach site - The stated measurements are referring to new standard cars. Measuring points: vertical distance from the middle of the wheel hub to the bottom edge of the mud wing. Generally the stated measurements are nominal values, which can vary depending on every car."
kyle_saloontdci
I find them quite bouncy and crashy on my fabia so I'm really not feeling buying another set. Has anyone had apex then? Want to get them ordered today or tomorrow really

The zetec s suspension (which is also on the standard zetec car) is definitely only abut 15mm lowered, I honestly think I'm not going to bother until one of the springs go, then ill just do the lot. Can't justify 150 quid for just a small amount :(
