Reg Vernon
I have 2012 (61 reg) C-Max with the 105ps 1.6l Duratec Ti-VCT-Sigma engine. I have noticed that this engine is nowhere near as responsive to throttle commands as was my 53 reg Ford Fusion 3 which had basically the same engine. Typically, engine revs are very slow to pick up speed and then come in with a rush, rather than being there straight away. I read a post written in 2013 by someonecwith a similar problem, which was solved by a Ford service update. Has anyone got advice about this? Is it as simple as having the ECU re-mapped by a Ford dealer (the Fusion was tweaked) and if so can I get the engine converted to the 125ps version of the same engine? At the moment the car seems a tad under-powered.
