Hi All,

Hoping for some advice,  when I brake the lights come on (I.e dash board lights up), and if the lights are on and brake pressed, when I take key out the engine still runs.  If I get in the car press brake and turn lights on the ignition is on without the key.

 

Any ideas?

What I would do is find the wiring schematic of the ignition switch and check the voltages.

 

I had a bmw e46 the ignition switch went bad on one of the circuits and it threw up crazy errors and turned on the brake lights when I opened the sun visor mirror
