Focus jolts back in rolling traffic

Hi if anyone can help me out be great. I have 56 focus diesel 1.6 Iv only had it a month but have noticed when I am in slow moving traffic and let off the accelerator the car jolts back instead of just rolling. It's hard to explain like something is holding or pulling insteAd of letting it roll. Thanks

They don't roll in 1st gear.  It's extremely annoying but there's nothing you can do about it.  Should be able to roll in 2nd until its labouring too much though.

Try and let off the throttle very slowly? My petrol focus does that if I try to let off the throttle if I've just been giving it 200rpm over idle in traffic. It will just pull itself along and up a not too steep hill on idle alone though if gentle enough with clutch/throttle when pulling away.
