Rolo782
This problem has been happening over the last few weeks. If I accelerate and rev over about 3000 RPM the engine almost seems to cut off. It's still running so hasn't stalled and the engine and battery warning lights come on. The car will move but extremely slowly. If I turn off the engine and re-start it everything seems fine. Acceleration under 3000rpm seems fine and drives fine under this. It always seems to happen at the very start of a trip so wondering if it's to do with the engine not being up to temperature. I have heard that different types of fuels may also have an effect. Any ideas on what might be going on and what needs to be done? Thanks George
ZetecMan1
I used to have a 1.9 Dci Megane and it would not rev over 3000rpm as the Egr valve was dirty. My dad cleaned it hey presto it was all good. Hopefully you can sort yours out. Cheers
Rolo782
That sounds simple enough. I am praying that whatever is going on is not too costly
