stuarth01
any one got the same problem? start the car the first time till the starter motor cuts out. Do it the same on the 2nd attempt. 3rd attempt few more seconds then the car starts. I know its been cod for the last few days and it doesn't help the battery. Any one got any thoughts or ideas at all? it only does it when the engine is cold. Once its been started it'll start first time. Also starts first time when the engine is warm. Devonboy
A whiff of "Easy Start" up the air cleaner always works wonders.

Diesel Engines get "addicted" to Easy Start, and it washes oil off the bores... Sort the underlying problem.

Sort the underlying problem. Been using Easy Start since 1953 , try starting a 1939 20 ton Crossley fitted with autovac, other alternative was to light a small fire under the engine. Turn the key to on (not start), wait for the light to go out, then turn off. Rinse and repeat 3-4 times, then try starting - what happens? mjt
I once tried Easy Start on an old Perkins with a starting problem in a boat. It kicked back and bent the starter shaft.
