XflowAl
Is it possible to replace the cam in situ? I have read the engine need to come out to be turned over, but it seems there must be a way to retain the followers without. Has nayone had any success with magnets?? Any advice greatly appreciated
XflowAl
...I know its a difficult question but no one seems to know. Its a shame no ones tried it. So, its engine out !
Pink Panther
Imo, it is quicker and easier to have the engine out, although not impossible to change in situ, it would be very time consuming and difficult, you could have it done in around 4 hours by taking it out, or around 2 days and a big struggle in place along with damage to the front panel, better to put the engine on a bench, then you can see everything to make sure it is all lined up
XflowAl
Yes I see, I agree. Would you do the cam timing in situ as I'll check that first?
Pink Panther
I done mine when I had the engine on the bench, rotate it by hand a few times to double check
