Hi

Just installed my dashcam , which I plugged into the cig socket on the dash

I noticed today that the dash cam was still on when I locked the car

Is it normal for the power to still be going to the socket when the car is off ?

Thanks

yes that's why we fit a piggy back fuse so the dash cam is only live when the key is turned on

You wire the live feed wire to fuse box behind the glove box

and you have to find a fuse on the box that's only live when you turn the key on

I can't remember if this was a feature on the MK1/1.5 focus, but on the MK3 Mondeo which came out around the same time as the facelift there was an option to move the fuse for the lighter socket to allow it to become a switched live rather than a permanent live.

Check in the manual and see if that is available to you.
