To anyone considering venturing out in the snow...

I've never eaten Gnocchi before, is it any good?

ohh its so good. dead easy to cook, put it un boiling water and then when it floats to the top its ready.

soaks up whatever sauce you throw at it but its damn fine in cheese sauce and when its baked its something of a food equivalent god.

it's worth a buy Jonny, not too expensive and it takes all of 2 minutes to cook.

Excellent news. I'll look forward to it :)

I'm considering driving 400 miles up the A1 to import some snow...

;)

boo hiss, we have had piddly amounts of "snow"

and jonny, report back to me how you find it

is he only 22   how dare he come on here spouting his views on driving . had to stop and remind an instructor the other day it is good practice to thank other road users when we stop and let them practice there driving skills on a public highway. and alsotopass it on to there students.

Just to let you guys know there’s more than one DSA approved instructor on here so please don’t kick us all. :(

And in reply to the above quote which I’m taking as light hearted but…

It would be great if we could always take a learner off somewhere safe, quiet and free from other traffic but it’s not always possible especially in the large cities. Even here in ‘Backwater Lincolnshire’ the country lanes are so tight we have to look for suitable roads where two vehicles can pass safely which often means a reasonably busy road.

Today’s traffic can be both a nightmare for the instructor and learner and I certainly don’t envy the newbie’s trying to learn a difficult skill while having many impatient drivers busting to pass because they feel the learner is slowing them down.

To those of you who do slow down, give way or stop to give the learner time I thank you.

To those who don’t ...

remember the Learner has as much right to be on public roads as anyone and most accidents are caused by those who are supposed to have passed their test.

:)

@cyb

Good post sir :)

Personally I always give a lot of space to learners, as I can remember what it was like back when I was learning.

One thing that always catches my eye though is the instructors from AA driving school - whenever its just the instructor in the car they never seem to abide by the laws of the road! Bad advert!

cyb you're like an air conditioning unit, here to relieve us of all this hot air and bring calm and peace to the forum.

 stop trying to embarrass me and get back on topic …

Now what was this thread about …. Cheese… no… mmmm ah yes snow! :)

It’s all but gone over this way, and if the weather carries on like this I'll have to change my sig again

cheesy snow?

I have heard that there may be some light snow here in Herts during the week. Possibility of it getting alot heavier on Friday, but hard to tell what with it being so far into the future...

WHERE'S MY EFFING SNOW

cheesy snow?

didn't your mum ever tell you never to eat yellow snow?

I hope the snow means I don't have to go back to work tomorrow ^_^ but I highly doubt i'll get that much snow :(

didn't your mum ever tell you never to eat yellow snow?

i was thinking more crumbled feta, if you squint i'm sure it would look like snow

Apparantly the Skiing in Scotland it quite good... I've never been skiing before so maybe I'll give it a go next year :)

A few years ago when I was visiting my friend in Scotland in the summer, he drove me to the cairngorm (Spelling?) mountains so I could stand in the snow! The view from the top is just breath taking! We almost missed the train back down to the bottom and nearly had to walk down, but we made it thankfully. I can't stand up on ice, let alone ski! But I recommend giving the place a visit.

South Wales has its first proper snow forecast for early next week. Had a light dusting night before last - that icy fine snow that sticks like crazy!

I'm hoping for about 10 feet of the stuff so i have an excuse to finish off all the christmas chocolates, crackers and a few remaining bottles of wine :P

Not sure what cheeses i should get in ready for the crackers though? I quite like port salut - what d'ya reckon?

I like a bit of stinky Stilton!

oh port salut would be a good one. depends what sort of crackers you wish to divulge in though.

wensleydale with cranberry is nice with crackers, not very spreadable though.

perhaps some nice camembert?

You happen to have the cheese selection from M&S this year, Princess?

no i have not! how dare you diminish my cheese knowledge to a poxy box from M&S HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!

Get yourself some Castello its really tasty and it spreads straight from the fridge! Tasty on any cracker, but especially those oat ones, available in all supermarkets. It's da bomb :)
