Indeed it is. It's the only time my Dad feeds us, the rest of the week we fend for ourselves

That's really excellent that is :)

what nationality of shepherd do you think is the best to cook with?

No need to be racist in your selection of shepherd, but it's best to support local industry and farming, so buy British :)

Not that it makes any difference when all you can eat is a nut roast.....

i don't just eat nut !Removed! roast!!!

we people can eat lots of things now! cheese is a big player though...

i think we have a shepherd department at Sainsbury's, i think its around £5 per kg?

What a ridiculously varied thread this has become! For the record cheese is wonderful. Agree about smoked bavarian cheese - I went through a period of constantly having smoked bavarian cheese toasted sandwiches all the time until I realised that I was gaining a stone a week. Other best cheeses - stilton, brie and mozzarella. Mozzarella is more of a texture than anything, it doesn't taste that great but when you melt it wonderous things happen. :P

What a briliant thread...cheese appretiation... I would just like to defend the mighty cheddar! It hasn't been mentioned thus far, but a nice mature cheddar is a lovely thing :D Big up to the cheddar massive

Its safe blud, innit ;)

cheddar's every day cheese. I like variety in my cheeses!

no :( i will try it!

It comes in a black packet, aint too cheap. As far as mature cheddars go I doubt you'll find a better one on the mass market :) It's like the maturity has been taken to a new level...

Does it have a picture of a miner on the packet? If so, magnificent. I don't think I've ever had mozzarella straws, what are they?

I can confirm that there is indeed a picture of a miner on the packet. It is magnificent :)
