Ford focus 1.6 diesel econetic mk2 has a unknown and ongoing problem.... car seems to jerk and judder from time to and worse case revs surge at idle and the cuts out but the main problem is the jerking when acceleration harsh. An engine malfunction light also came on when the jerking happened. Checked with OBD scanner and read the code P0238

I have also cleaned throttle body repaired oil return line as it split and changed the egr cooler as that sheared of from the cooler.

I would say test or replace the MAP sensor. If it's signal was jumping about, that could cause jerking and power fluctuations, as the ECU uses this as part of the airflow calculations, and to control the EGR valve, as well as controlling the turbo actuator.

Start with the connector, maybe with some contact cleaner, and if it continues, probably replace it..
