there's a sensor feed input on most modern capacitors jut the same as those on the amps which shuts down the capacitor on ignition,

You may consider selling the capacitor for a 1fared which supports the sensor feed line and is more suited to your install.

Ill be purchasing a 1.0 Fared close to the end of this month,

If you would like to try it out and see if it solves your problem i can have it shipped to your address as i dont need it until March,

If it solves the problem you can either pay me for it in febuary or send it on to me and buy your own ill give you a UK address to ship it to in the event of shipping, just an idea :)

Heres the capacitor: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121530999151

Check your connections on the sensor feeds,

And check if the capacitor has a sensor feed input first,

I reckon by the capacitor being 2.0 fared its consuming too much power from the battery to maintain its optimum capacity,

Its optimum capacity is ready for an amp demanding 2000watts but your only running 500watts from it at full belt.

Another option is sourcing a relay for the 4AWG power line,

The relay would filter the line aswell as fit to a piggy back fuse on an ignition feed,

Results: the audio gets power only when the ignition is live,

This would save you unplugging the amps or changing the capacitor

My capacitor has a sensor feed but I think you may be onto something with it consuming too much power to stay charged!

If I were to fit a relay to the 4awg.. It'd have to be a beefy bit of kit wouldn't it? Or would it? I'll have to have a look! When are you planning on purchasing the 1 farad capacitor? :)

Atleast I can have a temporary "fix?" Until I decide what to do! The cold weather won't be helping the battery either! Poor thing!!

It would be a big enough item mate,

I've not ever saw one my next suggestion had you chosen that option would be to talk to Dave at AutoStar electronics on eBay and ask him if he could source or supply such item.

+1 i notice a drain on the fan blower when the heated windscreen is active,

Another bit of advise but not related to the issue:

Check the size of your battery earth cable which goes from battery to the body of the car,

It now should be the same size as your 4AWG cable or bigger,

Car Audio Enthusiasts in America also rant on about what they call "the big three upgrade"

See video from EXO this guy is the next MightyCarMods:

Thanks for the email address, Will get in contact with him sometime tonight

Ill pm you about the capacitor before thursday morning as to wether id like to lend/buy it etc or not?

Saw a video similar to that a while back but i dont know how long of a cable i need and havent had chance to measure or find out.. Im bone idle at the minute! haha. I'll have to have a look next time in getting my hands dirty.. looking at it id say its possibly 8AWG on the car atm? not entirely sure. Any suggestions as to where i can get a cable made up with professionally crimped ends on? pointless buying a tool to do it myself & after the last lot of "4awg" cable i bought (turned out to have an 8awg core) i don't trust premade cables

Thanks lenny

No problem mate,

I've bought all my automotive electrical cables and connectors from AutoStar Quality guaranteed,

I've saw a supplier on eBay selling pre-made earth cables said to be an upgrade link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310920849221

Alteratively purchase 1 metre of Vibe 4AWG earth feed for 7 pounds and like EXO in the video use a hammer or vice to crimp it,

Are they based in the UK or Ireland Lenny?.. Just asking for postage etc

I'll have a read of the eBay link you've posted in a second! If I crimped it with a hammer (id probably stop myself from driving for a week.. I'd get pi55ed off when it wasn't crimping properly and smack it as hard as possible & crimp my fingers! But I might give it a go! :) )

There both in the UK mate,

I use parcel motel to ship from uk aswell so if you decide you dont want the 1 fared cap ill give you an address in the uk to ship it to.

Catch the crimp in two slips of wood and hammer the wood,

This will give an even smooth finish.

Hope you get sorted with the electrical gremlins man. I know nothing about it and sadly can't help. Only thing I was told for my setup was not to run the audio system without starting the car up first as it would definitely kill my battery. I didn't dare to try otherwise lol

It_ nice but a bit pricey for what it is mate,

Ive saw Focus ST spoilers from ford sell new for 120GBP try searching for a pre-owned ZetecS spoiler may be cheaper,

Check out the range of Mk6 stock at european-parts a ford shop dedicated to enthusiasts see link:

http://www.european-parts.net/catalog/index.php/cPath/114/osCsid/g8uttdfoae63iu7848oqo1opr0

I like these though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/hidden-license-plate-remote-control-hideaway-Euro-style/271598621841

I like em alot :) the blue led on top reg plate is not attached to the reg surround,

The blue led fits inside dash to indicate to you that your reg is hidden.

Would the zetec S spoiler from a 3 door fit a 5 door? That's what drew me towards that one I linked cause it's a "guaranteed fit". I agree, It is rather expensive.. It'd be one of those where I setup the page.. Cover my eyes and click pay! Hahaa

Those plate holders look ace!

Surly would mate same boot door on both models,

Whole kit would fit straight on except for side skirts,

Would require some cutting in half and filling the centre gap on the side skirts to extend them to 5 door.

The rear lights are a different size/shape between the 3 door & 5 door, that's all that's making me wonder?

Going to try get upto scrap yard today as they weren't open last time I went... Sure the fiesta I'm wanting bumpers off is a zetec s.... Are the spoilers adhered on or screwed, do you know??

Probably wouldn't bother with side skirts as speedbumps would destroy them in days.. Especially if I go lower

Most spoilers are stuck on with tiger seal or stickaflex (3m double sided car body tape) but if you fancy extra peace of mind and security, prob best to drill holes and bolt it on.

Hows the handbrake looking mate?

Guessing they're a pain to remove if adhered with tiger seal? Id probably screw/bolt it on if I went for it!

I havent had a chance to fit the handbrake yet :( as it'll mean removing alot of plastics so ill do it once ive got abit more time :)

Car's suffering from a very metallic squeaky sound from the front end... Sounds like a heat shield or part of the exhaust is a little loose

Will investigate tomorrow!! :)

Messy day today!!

I've started running the RCA for my reversing camera but inbetween the boot lid & the roof is a rubber cable grommet... Having trouble passing the wire through it. I've cut the end off so far so it's just a case of finding a metal coat hanger and threading it through :)

Now the cables routed you'd never know it exists!

Messy indeed. You should see the sorry state of my car driving around the midlands here. It badly needs a wash but I am waiting for the weather to clear a bit before sending it over to get a mini valet.

How's the sound system keeping you entertained?

Bet the weather's been 10x worse for you than me.. Yet here I am feeling sorry for myself! Haha

It's honestly 10x better than I was expecting now it's all bedded in! Sounds amazing without the back Speakers connected.. Might leave then disconnected as the sound in the back seats is okay anyway and I rarely carry passengers :)

Weather has been dreadful here. I am waiting for it to clear up then mini valet time!

As for the rear Speakers, mine are completely dimmed down as I found out it really muddles the quality coming from the front. I rarely have passengers in the rear as well, but if there are any, I can always bring the level up with the fader. Once you have the sub running off the Mono amp, you could get a better set of coaxials and wire them up to the Blaupunkt amp such that with the double din unit then, you can crossfade, back/front and left/right.

You still thinking of going to the Ford Fair?

Also, any thoughts of lowering the car yet? As I see you got some nice alloys there! I have seen a few Fiesta's with your car colour on white alloys. Tempted? :)

Weather's starting to clear up here, managed to avoid the snow! Roads are still a mess with all the grit though :(

I've already got the sub running off the monoblock. I now just need to run the wiring for the phono feed for rear from HU to amp & the connect cables to the connectors for the rear Speakers and I'm done! Not sure which to go for though.. Another set of Focal's or JL audio?

Still hoping to go to ford fair! Going to get tickets once their site is updated with more information.

As for lowering the car I'm not too sure now, as the speed humps on my road would just destroy the car no matter what speed.

As for the white alloys.. I think Im going to leave mine be for now. Going to save up for some surprise mods ;)

You know already what I will say to get for the rear Speakers :P Maybe consider another set of Focals, but depending on budget, you could get away with just a lower end set, which would still be better than most other manufactures and match the front ones. Or go for broke and get the same for the rears, which would be wicked!

Looking forward to the surprise mods. As for lowering, you are probably right about it if the roads are going to wreck it. White alloys are a huge pain to keep clean. I can barely keep my stock silver ones clean

All depends on budget & patience for delivery when it comes to ordering them.. Will be a last minute decision I think!

The speed bumps at the minute I struggle to go over at 15mph nevermind 20!! They're far too high! I'd love to lower but it's not worth it at the minute :(

As for the wheels... I'd be frightened of staining them with something whilst out and about!

Quick update; the knocking at the front end was down to the heatshield on the subframe which had sheered loose. I've re secured it with several zip ties and covered with silver foil tape to protect them from the heat but we'll see how it holds up! The noise has gone.. For now anyway! If it comes back I'm ripping it out we I've looked and all that it's preventing is my and the front passenger getting toasty feet!

On a downside... There's a loud squeeling coming from the rear when I have anybody sat In the back. I've given the wheels a tug and one created a big of a clunk when pulled but the other doesn't. Thought it may have been the bearing but it was changed less than 60 miles ago!!! I've checked the suspension and visually it looks fine..

Going to take the wheel off and the hub to check the condition of the bolts that hold the hub on through the axle spacers.. I loctite'd them but you never know.. May have managed to shake loose
