gillyallan
How come I've seen a few 64 and 15 plate focus about and they have no running lights at all ? I thought it was mandatory.
Preee
It was only Mandatory on new design vehicles, both the focus and fiesta were design cleared before the date, leaving them still as an option
gillyallan
Ok thanks. Didn't realise it was down to submitting a design. Just thought after X date they had to be fitted. Thanks
Preee
Very clever of Ford, although i'm sure if they had to fit them then the lower models would be a bulb as opposed to an LED.
SeanW
I quite like my DRL's (Thanks Lenny :D) Even better, the insurance company didn't charge me any extra for them :P

Rogue2
How come I've seen a few 64 and 15 plate focus about and they have no running lights at all ? I thought it was mandatory. Did they have any lights on at all?? Not all running lights are Led like our titaniums, some look like they have just sidelights on.
gillyallan
No. No lights.

Well Spoken Waffle
the bulbs are stupid bright - when you switch on the rear lamps the drls switch off and are much dimmer
Richard G
when you switch on the "normal" light required for after dark then the DRL's are required to switch off you may have a dual function unit if there are two different light (Lumen) levels from the same lamp
David73
How come I've seen a few 64 and 15 plate focus about and they have no running lights at all ? I thought it was mandatory. Because the road safety argument for DRLs is nonsense and a stupid ruling that only serves supplier's pockets. Fortunately the homologation rule allows manufacturers to hold off.
